Because sad and lonely people feel the need to express the fact that they are indeed stuck in this "friendzone" instead of going outside and talking to girls.... Also, its fucking annoying how much idiots use it to justify their actions.

Actually now that I think back when I was semi-dating a chick she majorly friendzoned this one friend of hers. He liked her quite a bit but she didn't really get all of his advances and when she did she just ignored them or something along those lines. This was years ago, they are dating now though.

I do believe "friendzoning" exists but it's wayyyyyyy overused and probably doesn't even apply to a majority of the situations it's described for.
