Title: Note to all YouTube creators, please read before posting...
Post by: Cadaver on October 09, 2013, 02:59:34 AM
It has come to my attention, several of the creators of YouTube videos may want to use "pirated" software...

Simple: Do not use pirated software, ever.  Particularly if you want to make $ off of your creation.  If noticed by the owner, or his/her legal team, expect a cease and desist letter, followed by a nice, and expensive, lawsuit.  It is no laughing matter.

Would you want someone to steal your creation, and tell you to sod off when you demand payment? That is what you are doing to them.  And a thief has no place here...

Further: You do not have permission to place the CG name, likeness, or linking to CG forums, Steam Community, or any other CG related site, contact, etc., on anything created with illegal software.  To do so may be a permaban offense.

If you want clarification, the fellow who actually studied copyright, patent, trademark, and internet law, and has a law degree, will be most happy to explain it to you.  (This person happens to be me, Cadaver...)

In addition,  the core fundamental rules of CG apply:
Please no posting of Not Safe for Work videos.
If it is Sexist, Racist, Homophobic, Personal Attack, Trolling or Minge-ing members of the Community, or other clans, communities, or groups, it is not welcomed.  And if I see such a video posted, expect me to request a permaban from the Community, for you, and those in the video in violation, in honor of your poor choice of action(s.)

Remember: Cadaver does not play.  Cadaver gets disappointed, then you go away... forever, if the case deserves it.

Better start making a new topic about opensource video editing programs.

Microsoft Movie Maker is also free: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/movie-maker#t1=overview

Depends what your doing. Perfect for games like TTT and War Thunder, stuff that won't last long. Just buy the real version at some point.

A heads up to anyone thinking of buying fraps.
You'll need either a Paypal account or a Credit Card. Gift cards do not work.

For me I've gotta make a trip down to the bank at some point so I can get all the info for setting up a Paypal account.

Until then, I'm using my friends copy.
Which might stop being an option at the end of the month.

This will also serve as my heads up if I have to stop making videos at the end of the month. Unless anyone is able to tell me another way to find the required info for setting up a Paypal account.

Just give me your bank details and sign here... I'll soon be able to get your Paypal account up and running :3

If you register your gift card at the website on the back of your card and wait 24 hours it should work at least with paypal and probably with fraps.

What information do they require that you don't have?  All the stuff they asked me for was the same info I already had from my checking account

If I recall correctly, I needed several different numbers, that I can't find anywhere in the online banking. When I looked it up, every recommendation was either call my bank (Which I can't find the number for) or talk to them directly, so that seems to be what I have to do.
