If you have an external HDD you can always put that stuff onto that. And just put it back when you're done. Or if you have good internet I know they have online data storage for mass quantities of files. May cost you time or money.

How to wipe? There should be a default program somewhere on your computer on formatting/wiping your HDD.

DON'T FUCKING DO IT.
YOUR GRAPHICS CARD WILL....
fuck it, here:
1) Buy a 1TB external hard drive
2) Drag and drop your C:\ drive (YES, EVERYTHING) into the 1TB hard drive
3) Incase shit goes wrong, you have your C:\ back up to image all the files onto your comp. (just run it using the ex. drive)

I want to wipe it because there's probably hidden shit on there slowing my computer down.
I defragged, and went through and deleted everything I didn't want, and that only freed up 50gigs or so.
250-300gigs =music
50ish = games
It's a 750 gig hard drive. I mean yeah there's probably some other files on there but 400gigs of it? Nah...

If you want to wipe it, you have to reinstall windows.
You put the windows CD in, restart the computer, it should load from CD.
It will give you the option to install windows (not repair or recover) and to do so it requires a hard drive format which will wipe it clean and format it all nice and neat and a totally blank slate for it to install windows onto.
As for backing up that much data you either need an external hard drive, or a regular hard drive plugged in as a second drive to copy your files onto. both cost money, so youre fucked if you cant spend any money on this.

Well I didn't pay money to fill it up, i'm not paying money to clear it.
Anyway, the music site I use tracks all torrents I downloaded, so I could redownload them.
Same with steam. I guess I could just delete everything, but there's probably shit on there I would need soon as I delete it. Kind of like when you throw something away and wish you didn't a week later..
