TTT admins known they have to prove themselves.
My suggestion: Admins should have to ask about the promotion after they meet the requirement (to prove they want the promotion. If they don't care what rank they are I see no need to promote them. I have several admins who recently asked me and were promoted. This would be like an application but more of a "Look, I meet the requirements."
I don't monitor how long the admins on ttt are there for, but I know who is active and who is not. Some of my trials are almost never on and so they have been trial for a long time. If you don't ask I assume you are content with your rank.
while gametracker takes 5 or more hours to update sometimes it usually gives a good idea of minutes played and score achieved, it's perfect on zps cause I can see if they were afk if they play four hours but only got three kills.. And then for overall hours in the game steam tells you that, though that could be in any server. Hence why I used to get mad if my admins played on other servers.
I feel trial admins should be changed to "populators". They don't have any powers and they spend one month being watched, as they make sure the servers filled and free of unruly players. Learning the rules for their promotion to admin. Then if they're outstanding at their job and are active on the forums they can get vet.
whether or not ones admin should depend on who they are though. You can get fifty posts, play 20 hours a day and still be a shitty admin. Ultimately it should always be up to the head admins, while other player input adds extra insight n shit.
I like my idea for "populators" because then you're not trusting random people with admin, and we can be more lenient with it. If at the end of their month we think they're ready, they can get admin. If they simply stop playing, then they won't. It's not too much different, and we could still have a trial level rank but just being a "baby" admin that promotes to normal admin with a few more powrrs seems silly..
oh look I can still text wall on my phone.
I think in terms of the 'veteran admin' title. I mean, I have some of them and not others, I don't have 300+ posts nor when I recieved the title, had I been admin for 4 months, but I am now.
I think post count perhaps should be for trial and regular admins, but perhaps going up to vet admin is pushing it... Personally the head admin in my case asked me to become an admin, and then decided to put me to veteran...
Just saying it should be the head admin who ultimately decides for vets, as they're closest to the person and ultimately know them best (at least in my case)
I figured that trial admins have more place in TTT, and that's why I started to say we could keep it, the idea behind the populators is so we don't have trials that disappear and do nothing, perhaps we could just make trial something else, and it's just the learning admin stage, not limited to a month, and the populator thing is for when you first join CG and want to help out. Perhaps something to do while working on their post count? Ya diggg.
