Who cares? No one said he was a saint in the first place. He was a revolutionary person, and made shit change. Why bring up the bad? He's dead, anyway.

I think everyone knows Mandela wasn't perfect, Kwuartz. People don't revere him as a hero because they think every decision he made was flawless, they revere him because he was still better than the people who ran the South African government before him. Besides, there isn't a single thing on that list that hasn't been done by almost every leader in the western world.
Really, the man's body is barely cold and already people are using his death as a political talking point.

In all honesty I had no idea there was anything really negative to him myself. Then again I have never studied much about him, as I am rather ignorant when it comes to African history.

Since the beginning of the cold war South Africa has actively destabilized the sub-Saharan region of Africa. Whether it was through economic domination or through military aid for militia groups, notably the UNITA organization that fought against the MPLA in the 27 year long Angolan civil war (1975-2002). Even if he was a politician in a different country he would still be a politician. Generally speaking politicians do bad shit, especially powerful ones.

Its hard to clean up a mess without getting dirty yourself.
Mandela was a revolutionary, and revolutions have historically not been very void of death.

He might not've been, but you can't say anything about how good he was in Batman and Shawshank.

The question is, do his ends justify his means?

Look at it this way. Do you love America? Do you realise how many innocent people died so that America can be what it is today?

His ‘wife’ was a mass-murderer.
