Do you use onboard graphics or do you use a graphics card?

If you have onboard graphics or a spare video card lying around, try one out and see if the problem persists. Your video card might be busted.

It is also possible, though highly unlikely, there is an issue with the bios chip on the motherboard.  It looks like a corruption of a bios.  "A" bios?   Yes.  As I know there are a few graphics cards with a bios. Check your graphics card to see if its bios is corrupt... (Though I think you have already removed the graphics card as a possibility...)

I suggest this: Download and install a new bios on the motherboard.  It will either: Be successful and probably fix the issue.  Or: It will fail to install, which means you need a new motherboard.  Or new bios chip, as some allow for replacement...

Corruptions of motherboard bios typically occur do a power spike to it.  Any power issues of late?
