Ban Appeal / Re: Unbanning Crypto
« on: December 16, 2013, 08:33:47 AM »
I don't even understand why he is banned, honestly he isn't even a troll to begin with. He is great fun to talk to and was always funny in game. I guess many of the new people in CG never had enough time to get to know him, when the forum was a lot smaller he was fine.

But w/e i hardly see him getting unbanned

HES BEEN BANNED THREE SEPERATE TIMES

The first time he spat off to Inject, and went out of his way to directly conflict with him, and insulted him on a regular basis.
The second time was for his beyond confrontational nature. Yes, I will be confrontational, but not to the point where I question your intelligence to the point of belittling you infront of everyone in such a 'holier than thou' methodology that crypto used to use.
The third time he was on a warning, told not to do anything he did before, and promptly posted this

Quote
ban all the queers and homos in this gay-ass community. jesus christ

Quote
i am so damn tired of gays in the news and furthermore in addition frigging "gay marriage" also as well, too. please sever the sinful organs, viz., all their genitalia and in particular the dicks, phallic apparati, the proverbial johnson and most notably the male penis, etc., and cancel all gay marriages and general relationships, and banning them as well from conjoint gaming. the gay man is anathema. hell is for the gays, and where do they go? you guessed it. gays are hell. hell is other people. fin

Now, I personally understand Crypto is being sarcastic as fuck. Thats something I learned a long time ago, however, to newer members of the community, this isn't going to fly, especially for those whom are LGBT in our community, who actually DID get offended if I recall correctly and complained.

ALSO, BY ALL OF YOUR LOGIC, LETS UNBAN SNAK/REBELMASTER TOOO, THATLL GO OVER SWELL!

Pretty sure he got banned after he said this:

http://www.conjointgaming.com/forum/index.php?topic=9452.msg124843#msg124843

-1, I don't think unbanning him will bring good to the community.

Yeah I didn't think he was permabanned twice, that does complicate things a bit but I don't really agree with the length of his bans..

The last thread that got him banned was an aprils fools day thread, everyone was being an april fool and trolling. Dante threatened to gut someone if they didnt shut up, other people were telling each other to shut the fuck up, and it was all hardly even funny so Crypto just comes in and fully abuses the context of the thread. He's been banned for 8 months now for something that hardly even warrants a year ban so IF he can continue to be orderly and not do anything like that it isn't even an issue. On the regular he's not disorderly enough to keep banned forever, and as much as we let a lot of CG speak their mind, I think we can handle another single persons opinion.

Fine, if you unban Crypto, then we rally under this flag again!

Also, hes been perma-banned THREE times now.

The only reason anyone says "I am not replacing "X" just coming in as another addition" they are lieing and trying to make you not feel threatened.

It's a linux based OS. It can easily replace Windows depending on what you do.

Have you used it? It is LITERALLY big picture mode on a debian shell. The best you could do is install Debian with it, but besides that, it is literally like using the xbox OS.
Yeah... which is exactly why you can do anything.
It's very disappointing atm. It's just linux with steam installed. You can go on the web dl, skype, teamspeak, instantmessengers, and wine. And bam you have a fully function pc. I actually was hopeing for a more xbox like OS. Restricted. Oddly enough. But not at the same time. I wanted it to feel like steam.  it doesn't.

Its only meant to be a home theatre OS. That was their intention.

General Gaming Talk / Re: Wii U failing (Part Deux)
« on: December 16, 2013, 01:43:55 AM »
Just one question

Why are you so obsessed with pointing this out? Did Nintendo murder your family?

NO ITS WORSE. THEY MURDERED MY BELOVED SEGA (Well Sony technically did, but Nintendo raped the corpse with all the horrible Sonic games), oh and they killed my beloved Rogue Squadron and haven't released any Fire Emblem games. Actually TBH would buy a Wii U in a heartbeat for a true HD Fire Emblem game.

Honestly, I have a N64, of which I still play Mario Kart (and I'll brag just about this, I'll beat any of you at it) and a bunch of other games, I have a CG and a Wii. I'm upset in how much the Wii dragged them down in terms of third party content, how badly they have ruined the Mario Kart games (So little skill involved in the series now), and just the lack of anything new from them.

When was the last time Nintendo created a new IP? We should be seeing new stuff with all the money they have, yet its same old stuff year in year out. Honestly their quality is top notch, but its just so sad to see them waste so much potential.

To put it into perspective, only Ubisoft is creating any large third party titles for the Wii U, and I can play Watchdogs on other systems, so the only games I'll miss out on this year is Mario Kart 8 (Nope) DK country, which I've never been a fan of, Banyonetta 2, which I never played the first, and that's it. Smash will be delayed another year, and really won't influence me buying it.

I'll ask this of you Wii U owners though. Is the online system any better. I remember trying to play Brawl against some people in Chicago (so Michigan is 4 hours away) and the ping was easily 250-300. I consistently get a ping of 20-30 for everything on my PC, so what the hell?

Oh, here's anther article too http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/12/13/nintendo-has-to-sell-11-million-wii-us-a-month-to-reach-its-goal

The original WII just had really shit for networking built into it. It would slow down your network if it was on it because of the shit hardware they used.

Steam OS was never meant to replace windows as an OS. It is meant to be an OS for your living room.

I have it

I WANT TO PLAY IT

But I refuse to play solo. I also can't set up my own server because there are no options to port forward with Optimum, and I refuse to use Hamachi.

If you are talking about your ISP, they wouldn't forward your ports, it'd be on your router in the web api.
