quote from the health canada site:

(Monosodium glutamate (MSG) is the sodium salt of the naturally occurring amino acid, glutamic acid which makes up 10 to 25 % of all food protein, from both animal and vegetable sources. In addition to being an ingredient intentionally added to foods, glutamate occurs as a natural part of proteins, including vegetable and animal proteins. These proteins, when broken down (i.e.: by cooking) release free glutamate and are themselves used as ingredients in various prepared meat products, soups, broths and gravy mixes.)

The glutamate of MSG confers the same umami taste of glutamate from other foods, being chemically identical.

The MSG found in natural part of proteins is less concentrated  than the brans that sell MSG by itself. You can find more msg in a bag of doritos than the msg found in natural foods.

All this to say that people shouldn't buy junk food that contain MSG. Small substances that are found in chicken, tomatoes, meats, veggies aren't as harmful as they look. So it's all a question of what you're eating and how much. Now: 66 percent of  Americans are Overweight, 30 percent Americans are Obese. The mentality has changed, less people eat like they should. All those refrigerated foods, soups, canned foods, chips etc are part of their daily nutrition. Yes MSG cannot be that harmful in some cases, but think about it. Even the smallest amount eaten each day could have serious health issues in the future.

You should probably note that this isn't true. It's not less concentrated. Theirs just as much MSG in your cheese as they TINY amount added to a bag of chips. This quote says nothing about chips having more. Not even close to that.

People are fat? So what? You can't blame MSG for that. We eat more because we can. Food is so readily available and cheap that is why people are fat. Obviously what we eat takes a small part of this as well but its more about HOW MUCH we eat. And no the smallest amount eaten each day COULD NOT have any serious health issues. They never said that. It only excites your nerves while it is there. We are talking about constant excited nerves on a constant bases with no time for repair.

http://www.msgtruth.org/obesity.htm

MSG leads to obesity, obesity leads to hearth attack, shorter life span.
Di..Did you not watch the video above? Also this website has been talked about on many sites as being a very uncredible source for information. The study with the rats was not confirmed, their was mixed results and no study's on humans were able to prove this, also the used incredible amounts... you know what, just watch the video.

MSG consumers die at a younger age and that is proven by scientific studies. No one will consume large quantities of msg, but you can always consume small quantities on a longuer period wich can affect you're health.
That is not a proven fact. State you sources, because I have never heard that in my life. I see zero evidence of this being the case and no one has proved this.

Then it's all a matter of awarness. Besides, even if the quantity you consume isn't enough to destroy you're brain cells, the consumers who use msg products can be hurt step by step if used throughout a long period.
What?

This is hugely over hyped much like aspartame with the exception that msg is found in a lot of food naturally in quite high amounts.

I believe MSG is a bigger problem here because its  everywhere in our foods, aspartame can be easily identified and a majority of people know its health risks.

MSG is not everywhere. And Like It's said it's even naturally occurring. Not to say that because it occurs naturally it must be safe, because that would be a bad assumption. However it's pretty safe to say based on many test that the levels of MSG needed to even potentially have adverse effects would be well beyond that of what is obtainable unless you were actually purposely consuming mass direct quantities of it.

There are definetely more people who have heard of msg than aspartame. This is the first time I've heard of aspartame, however lots of products advertise their lack of msg.
I would have to disagree, however I don't think it matters. Aspartame and other artificial sweeteners I'd say are far more dangerous then MSG could ever hope to be and are found in almost virtually everything, and it quite high dosages.

Other bad aspartame like sweating substances...
Stevia
Sucralose*
Saccharin
Cyclamate
Lead acetate
Mogrosides

* Is especially bad.

and... In all honesty High Fructose Corn Syrup.

except aspartame isn't naturally occurring. And most people can agree is worse then actual granulated sugar.

But this about MSG I guess, so yeah.. . UP WITH MSG XD

EDIT:
Quote
It is an old chemical ingredient that was created by a Japanese Scientist.
Not a chemical created thing. It was discovered. Naturally occurring.

I agree with you but I never said that you tought MSG was healthy, besides it's not the only substance that is dangerous for us. And I don't grow my own cows lol, even if that was a metaphore, I just buy it fresh without any growth hormones.
I was referring to cows as the common meat/beef. Buying fresh cow meat? You must have a farmers market near by, not everyone does. Its not possibly for everyone to get that kind of meat it's also oodles more expensive. And am I going to stop eating meat just because of that? Nope.

And ..."besides it's not the only substance that is dangerous for us." ...yeah I know that's what I was saying.

Wrong. And yeah everyone knows what MSG is. McDonald's does not Add any MSG. It is however very commonly found in North American Chinese restaurants. It is in Doritos (if they are flavoured) some people get head achs from MSG. I can't speak for the American McDonalds but I can for the Canadian one.

Also MSG is a little over hyped as a DEMON DRUG at times. Granted I don't think anyone would call it a health food but you act as if all that fake sugar (Aspartame) is any better for you. It too is also very dangerous.

I'm not wrong about this subject, I asked many of my friends and they didn't have a clue. Plus, I don't use fake sugar because I know it's bad for you're health. I once drank diet coke back when I didn't know what aspartame was and I had heart burn. All i've been eating for 4 years is vegetables, meat and nothing artificial.  If you ask me, only a small percentage of people know what I'm talking about, of course if I had stated trans fat, then people would know, but this is not the case. At least it's good to know that you do care about you're health.
I didn't say you were wrong and that MSG was healthy I said (although not really that dangerous)...
You are wrong, You said MSG was in McDonalds. It isn't. How old are your friends? It's pretty much common knowledge to know what MSG is these days. Not using it (fake sugar) is irrelevant, everything you buy has it in it.

People can go a little overboard with this health stuff, if you want to get really in depth you'd be eating nothing. Sorry I can't afford to kill all my own cows and bake all my own food but I'd have to in order to avoid the millions of things that MIGHT kill me. I just think its crazy how over worked people become is all. Especially when aspartame is in way more stuff then MSG. Given that MSG is generally mainly for china na food. Although growing it's way out bit by bit.

Why are admins trolling and not being reported to towersheep or old crow?
Side Note:

Or Inject Or Jorgen. Towersheep is HA for TTT. Don't think he could help if a TF2 Admin was trolling.

Just because a rouge infection attacked you this way before doesn't mean it isn't real now. It's likely that you where infected by a rouge infection either from another software downloaded or as a cleaver pop up, either way It's very possible this is the real update.

You could of course uninstall all Adobe Products, and then re install them.

Debate Forum / Re: Black Ops 2 a waste of money?
« on: 20 Nov, 2012 13:11 »
I agree with the fact that the campaign is pretty cool, but in terms of engines, my brother , who studies 3d animation tells me that this is a prehistoric way of making the game, compared to crysis who's graphics are the best on the market.

Graphics don't matter - Gameplay does.

Crysis is fun, but so is tetris; Dead Space 2 is fun but alas, so is Doom.
Crysis was fun? Did you play a different game then the rest of us? Sure it had amazing graphics but the overall game was horse shit.

Complete and total waste of money on that,

Back on topic however, BlackOps2 I haven't look at it much but as far as the multiplayer goes it looks terrible even compared to blackops 1
