Its appalling at the lack of knowledge that is displayed by the admins at times. Also, the reaction time of said admins can be slow, I understand they have a lot, but speed needs to be picked up on, and a full course of how to deal with situations and whatnot needs to be given upon granting admin status. I'm tired of being asked on several occasions what something is in terms of punishment. You volunteered for the job, I stepped down from the job, quit asking me how to do it.
-
I could understand how someone could ask you for what the disciplinary action would be for something that isn't listed, but when it's blatantly obvious, there's no excuse for not knowing how to solve an RDM & Leave [For Example.] I've done my fair share of "What do I do if ----" but if you're uncertain of a punishment, you need to ask someone.. not just assume you ban someone for rdming 2 people.

I am trying to do my best, It's just hard to handle a full server on your own.
Dealing with multiple victims/ RDM'ers is just hard for me to hold on my own.
If there are enough admins, I am willing to step down. Unless I got the rules and steps of procedure in my head.
-
This isn't a thing against you Finnie, its alot of the admins. Most of the admins that are on the server are either trials or regs.
-
I know kwaurtz ;)
-
New Admins might wanna just keep a notepad or something of the punishments based on the offense... So they wouldn't have to ask twice.
-
I feel I have a grasp of what issues deserves what punishment. The only time I need to really think about it is when multiple offences are being considered, people claim something happened but I don't have proof, or when it's more of a subjective offense like trolling. It also adds a little stress knowing that I'm new, and it wouldn't be great having an admin abuse being filed on me. Other then those examples I feel I'm pretty swift at taking action.

I know I was slow at first, and it really sucked. But I think I've had a tremendous speed increase since my first day as admin. It also helps when Acecool, Shpo, and Vince are around (I play with them most of the time). But I think I have a good handle on things and keep the Slyder's guide open most of the time I play. The only thing that sucks is that I'm still having trouble adding bans. I'm doing everything right, even Jorgen checked it. But for some reason my client gives me an error every time I try to add a SteamID to the ban list.
-
Yeah, with SourceMod even I'M having problems banning. I miss Evolved.
I guess once you get a grip on the banning things can be done faster. Perhaps if anyone has any problems they can do some practice bans on the 2nd TTT server?

sm_addban has never worked for me either.
I tend to use /admin and ban from there. If an rdm and leave occurs, I inform Inject/Jorgen.
-
Guys. You can always do /ban in chat.
-
Usually I only slay if the person wants the other person slayed, and if the other player doesn't apologize. But usually I slay automatically if there are 3 rdms. and anymore than that i keep slaying for every rdm till hes below 600 karma then i ban.
-
/ban doesn't work when they've already left the server. /addban and sm_addban haven't been working for me.
-
Ban their IP then, that will.
-
And what would the command for IP banning be?
-
/ban, it works by nickname, steam id, and ip.
-
Ok thanks. I'll try it next time I have an issue.
-
/addban {Time} {Steam ID} {Reason}

Actually IP only works on sm_banip as far as i've seen.
-
It worked when I was an admin, dunno how it would have changed since then.

/addban {Time} {Steam ID} {Reason}
Doesn't work. Just sayin'.

Trail admins can't addban. It works just fine, but only for regulars and up.
-
That's what I thought at first TowerSheep. But now I'm able to add bans. Maybe something was changed?

As am I. I'm not quite sure what was going on. I heard some regulars complaining about not being able to do the addban either (Earlier, as in 2 weeks ago)..
