Title: C.L.I.T
Post by: Wholegrain on January 20, 2011, 05:30:04 PM
Ok now i know how lolzy that sounds but it is the acronym for

community leader in training program which i am thinking of starting up pretty soon

basically what it is in a nutshell is training and grooming people who we believe will be our future leadership for cg

I will teach them everything they need to know in seminars about
installing sourcemod servers some basic guidelines to follow how to troubleshoot deal with people set tasks to people and have the right mindset

requiremenets are

-suggestions (no high pressure tactics) from other community leaders head admins and veteran admins nominating someone else

- Age must be at very least 17
- Must be a Veteran Admin Status or higher
- Must be able to commit to CG for at least a year
- No Confirmed admin abuse reports

people who have been suggested and i am keeping an eye on
cadver old (25+)
slyder 25
vincent 19
towersheep 22

these people in time will start to replace me

please i know the clit aconym is funny but if you make a post saying something about it at least put something else in your post that adds to this discussion

my joke would be that

THIS PROJECT WILL HAVE AN OVARY WELL BALANCED AFFECT ON CG

Only Cadaver is the one on there that is a veteran admin.

Thanks, it is an honor to be considered...

And, yes, I am old.

So, unlike some others here, I do know what a clit is...

(Quote from Bjork: "C.l.i.t is a cool abbreviation xD" followed quickly by "Coming" in the chat box... )

this is a project that should kick off in 2-3 months from now

if they still perform well and are still active in cg they will be put up and then the training will begin

Cadaver is the only Veteran. Isn't that contradicting the rules on that? Slyder would be a good choice though. Vincent is REALLY new and TowerSheep is ok but still.

If I might have a say if anything, would you care to add those who have been here for a while before those who have not.
Cadaver, would be a great choice but he does not know gmod (our mainstream servers)
Towersheep is quite new, he seems good, he knows our mainstream servers. One thing though he is quite new, new people here have a habit of disapearing...
same goes for vincent and slyder

I don't really know slyder, so i shall not say much about him, nore have I had to much time with vincent.
seeing that they are both fairly new in my point of view

also this program is for head admins that don't know as much as they think they should know about the server (installing sourcemod and managing adding admins etc... )

There are only 4 requirements there.(Not counting the suggestions thing, THAT DOESN'T REALLY COUNT.)
I THINK KNOWING HOW TO COUNT SHOULD BE ONE OF THE REQUIREMENTS.

Well if it isnt a requirement then why is there a - infront of the sentence like the others

Because Wholegrain wanted to do it.
-THESE SIGNIFY NOTHING.
-SEE?
The first one is a prerequisite!

"Cadaver, would be a great choice but he does not know gmod (our mainstream servers)"
And thus the "in training" part.  So that people missing key skills can learn them before becoming a full CL. At least that is what Wholegrain described it to me as...

And it does make sense to go thru training b4 becoming a full CL.

Good work reading the thread. You have shown me you have truly superior reading skills. OH NO WAIT, YOU MISSED THE POINT OF THAT THREAD ENTIRELY, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TROUBLE READING, AND NOW COUNTING TOO.

You should of just said, "Raunky, I understand your superiority to myself, I will go learn my place now. I am sorry to have wasted your time."
Or something like that.
Yeah.  parrot

Back to the topic at hand. One of the requirements should be a lot of free time. If some one is going to go around managing everything, setting up and fixing servers, and what not, they're going to need a lot of free time. A lot.

u obviously dont get that most people here have school raunky so they cannot have as much FREE time as u think they must. that is probably the worst requirement u could possibly make since alot of people could not commit to it, its more like this
whenever u DO have free time then u try ur best to do what u can, but u see most people dont have free time every moment of everyday like WG (no offense WG ur GREAT  drugnerd). and im sure that most of the nominies have full time jobs too, so take it a little easy with the free time thing, u know some people have got family too and some are married, so their not gonna spend their whole life in front of the computer for example hallow cannot always be on because she is married with 2 boys, so obviously she has to make dinner, clean house, and do a bunch of other stuff too, come on just be more realistic.
Title: Re: C.L.I.T
Post by: Raunky on January 22, 2011, 04:58:12 PM
No, you be realistic. You can't run a community if you dedicate 100% of your time to work and school. What good would Whole's potential replacement be if they were never around?
Title: Re: C.L.I.T
Post by: Scotty on January 22, 2011, 05:07:02 PM
I didnt say they would spend 100% of their time to school and work. what im saying is they have other responsiblites and a job is what pays the bills and the internet bill so u be realistic. they should be on a bit after work, then finish their homework or what ever school work they have and then go back on, or they could even multi task with the computer beside them and doing homework so if theirs any problems their still contactable. but theirs always times when u get caught up at work or ur at a high point of school for example ur finals ESPECIALY in university or colleage that is ur life on the line their and if u cant get a stable job and shit like i said how would u pay the bills?
Title: Re: C.L.I.T
Post by: Wholegrain on January 22, 2011, 09:43:12 PM
some people can put in more time than others making them more favorable

its a simple trade off doesn't go further than that even if you have an excuse i do not care i only care about keeping CG up and running and expanding that is top priority taking priority over everyone and everything  (not in real life though :P)

please keep this less about arguing about something silly

once again to be honest

for CG i never expected or had any plans in place for when CG got this large and how fast it has been growing

Im in the process of figuring out how the best way to tackle the training the future leadership of CG will be

I want all of the CLT's and the Head Admins in this program and im thinking maybe allow others that are still willing to learn

its going to be broken down into maybe a dozen seminars (probably less)

2 seminars will be about sourcemod
3 seminars will be a servers (installing to config to logging to troubleshooting and all the basics of the programs we use on our server box you will be come familiar with)

Uhm Vincent has 12 posts been admin for about a week and now a CL in training  ???

Not to be negative or anything just wondering if he has been with CG before or something.

And Cadaver ftw!  :D

this program kicks of alot latter down the road

I will not always be in CG
Vincent will either be a coder or a cl its up to him i think his talent would be wasted as a cl and he should be a coder

@ Raunky its optional and i know you know most of it so you don't have to attend any of them

I however want to start the program immediately for Jorgen and Tk so i don't have to do much for the ttt/css server

expect the basic seminars of sourcemod to start this weekend

(for head admins only others are allowed but im mainly trying to get them up to speed right now)
