Title: Cats or Dogs?

Which animal serves as a better companion?

Cats are great for their cleanliness and they are very soft animals meaning they don't get into much apart from maybe jumping on something you don't want them to jump on.
Dogs are usually general liked by your average guy. They are good for hunting and bonding. Problem is they are often quite messy and stinky in most terms. They require a lot more work to take care of depending on the dog. Some can't even be kept in a house.

I personally prefer cats because I find them small and cute. I happily own 2 cats and in the future I hope to get more :3

Cats are more independent, my family lets our cat out because we know it wont run away, it never has. It mainly will hide in the bushes, and it rarely uses the litter box but also tends to go in the flowers... (thats good right? fertalizer D:) but they can be really affectionate depending on the breed.

Dogs can be a handfull at times, you have to train them to go outside, and not on the rug more, and he begs a ton for walks and food, (we walk him 1-2 times a day) but they can be extremely affectionate and playful. But some arent so smart...
(i had 2 dogs, both the same breed but not at the same time, she would bury and dig up bones bigger than her head and bring them into the house, she loved to chase cars. our second has this really weird walk, he was fine till something happened and started making poop circles EVERYWHERE in the house.)
Both are great pets.

I seem to have a problem when it comes to Cats. Most of the time they're scared stiff whenever they see me but when I lure them in I get one or two signs of affection before I screw up somehow and it runs away.

Suprisingly I have that same problem with Females.

He eats when he feels like it, and leaves the rest for later. He cleans himself, and is never dirty. He goes in the litter box, and leaves no unwanted presents. He keeps rats away and gives really little work.
And he is not a uncaring bastard. I find him to be more playful and warmish than both my dogs, who are, naturally, messy as fuck.

Oddly enough, my cats already knew how to use the litter box when we got them, even though we found them as strays when they were really young.

They both generally act the same in my house, but that's probably because they all rub off on each other. All cat's and dogs have different personalities just as do humans, some are ridiculously hyper and vicious, others extremely docile and skiddish. Like my dog, a (Husky/wolf)/Pitt-bull. She's a cuddlemonster too, I luffs her. The cats prefer less to cuddle, and randomly decide to make you pet them. They all enjoy sharing meals with me and Fluffy(cat) and Sandy(dawg) are always playing together, sleeping together or something, they're like best friends. I love my pets. 3 cats and 1 dawg.
