Title: Total War: Rome II

HOW FAR WILL YOU GO FOR ROME?

Quote from: Total War Website
Become the world’s first superpower and command the most incredible and vast war machine of the Ancient world. Dominate the enemies of your glorious empire by military, economic and political means.

Your rise will bring admiration from your followers but will also attract greed and jealousy, even from your closest allies.

Will betrayal strike you down, or will you be the first to turn on old friends? How much are you ready to sacrifice for your vision of Rome? Will you fight to save the Republic, or plot to rule alone as Dictator — as Emperor?

I don't know how many of you are in to stratergy games, but I am extremely hyped for this. Every Total War game has been absolutely awesome and Rome II is shaping up to be the best thus far. It's available for pre-purchase from the steam store and with it you get some TF2 stuff and the Greek States faction pack.

I already pre-ordered Rome about 3 months ago.
We are going to play this together, like it or not Cortez.

I never played any of the total war series. I'm big into strategies, but havent tried this one. What are some of the perks of it versus starcraft or sins of a solar empire?

+ It's a turn based strategy game/real time strategy for the actual battles. You are allowed to auto-resolve battles but you leave it in the hands of AI. Actually being able to control troops in a lot of fun and is the selling point of the game. Otherwise it would be a Civ rehash.

+ Graphics are starting to drastically improve, different models for each individual soldier. Campaign map looks gorgeous.

- Multiplayer, here's the thing with Total war in my opinion. It's a hit or miss thing. Some titles like Rome Total War, (The original back in 04 ?) was great with multiplayer. They still have a good community there. Empire/Medieval had pretty dead multiplayer lobbies and I felt like it was more single player oriented.

Honestly, Rome 2 is the god child of the series and can either doom it or elevate it. I would recommend trying out other titles in the game if you're hesitant on spending $60. Either Rome or Shogun 2.

HOW FAR WILL YOU GO FOR ROME?

Heh, I just pre-ordered it today. Also I think you'd probably like it Kwaurtz. The original Rome is getting pretty old though and a lot of the core gameplay has changed so I would recommend buying shogun 2, it got a 90 on metacritic (http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/total-war-shogun-2).

Well then, aparently there have been some graphical issues so far, but other than that the game is running quite well. That picture is creepy as hell though XD

Been loving Rome2 so far, great game so far. Only reason I'm not playing that much is freakin AP Calc homework.
