hl1 freezing

k it randomly freezes up when its loading up the next level
 i have windows 7 x64

safemode
autoconfig mode
direct x 3 only mode

im about fresh out of ideas and i realy want to play some of the hl1 games and mods

fixed i put it in 32 bit and it works fine now
if anyone else has this problem its cause IT WONT RUN IN 64 bit
simple fix added -32bit to launch settings
