The title stands for itself. Should we keep the minecraft server? If you want to comment on this question, say so here. If not and you have not already voted, there is a poll going on, go to the homepage and look to the right of the screen, it should be right there. P

Sick and tired of server ran by outside people.
Either host on ourselves or don't get one at all.
We've had far too many corruptions from minecraft ****s.

the server is ran by me and rehab so it is ran by cg members and what is wrong with the minecraft server? if theres anything wrong why dont you tell me i am the head admin after all so if you want the server to get better suggest bukkit plugins for the server and stuff that would make the server better for all the players

persistent admin abuse

oping random ppl in cg or friends overall skipping the admin application process
banning irish wrongfully
poor hands on management (i alerted rehab about tictac and he said he would do something but I doubt he did or at least not in time)

people have stopped playing on the server all together because of the inconsistencies

the server just doesn't have that feel anymore I stopped playing on it after a while even and now it seems like a ghost town half the time

I think it is about time to upgrade our serverbox anyways to 8 gigs of ram which may be about $200 all in all for shipping + buying all the ram (tops I can probably get it much cheaper and will be looking to get it for under $150 all in all) and I will be selling our old 4 gigs of ram probably for about $50ish on ebay which will be refunded back into cg finances  so overall it might be $100 investment but with 8 gigs of ram we could have a shit ton of players on our minecraft server and not have any problems

we already are on daily usage using about 50-60% ram just in comparision with our cpu which is generally around 20% average so the upgrade is going to have to happen eventually and we would have a few gigs extra to toss around for the time being
