Arstotzkan citizen will be missed. Glory to Arstotzka!

In all seriousness, It's a shame that anyone actually needs a use for any weaponry, including the Kalashnikov rifles, but it's human nature. And you can't blame the creator, it's the countries and the people that financed it to be created - and the people that use it.

As a man, I can't say I know anything on his background. But as long as he wasn't a criminal. Rest in Peace.

So everybody here also hates Einstein, Nobel, Browning, Colt, Curtis LeMay, Bomber Harris etc.

Thats some pretty flawed logic.

He created the rifle to defend Russia, as he had an experience in World War II when he was wounded and on a hospital truck that soldiers had a tough time defending themselves with the battle rifles in use.

Over the years he was quoted as saying anybody using it as an offensive weapon is using it wrong.

People forget why GUns were created. Hunting, defense, security. Yes they have been used for the offensive, but thats not the main thing they are used for. And if they are used offensevly, normally the people are defending something. RIP Mr.AK Inventor.

One of the most simple yet deadliest weapons in the world, it claimed more lives than the nuclear bomb.

I can't blame the man for creating something to help his country. I don't like the use of guns for "Defense" or killing each other but. But in the end it's a necessity in wartimes.

Plus he made it to "Defend his country" from Germany after the shit show that was World War 2 so I can't blame him.

Also
"• He was 23 when he began designing the assault rifle eventually known as the AK-47." You can't deny that he was a brilliant man to create such a piece of equipment at that age.

A few of his famous quotes:

Quote
I'm proud of my invention, but I'm sad that it is used by terrorists ... I would prefer to have invented a machine that people could use and that would help farmers with their work — for example a lawn mower.
Quote
Blame the Nazi Germans for making me become a gun designer ... I always wanted to construct agriculture machinery.
Quote
I created a weapon to defend the borders of my motherland. It's not my fault that it's being used where it shouldn't be. The politicians are more to blame for this.

This.

What the hell is wrong with you Chris (No offense intended against you personally)? Do you realise how much of an asshole you sound like? "Guy creates a gun that is used against the Americans therefore he deserves to go to hell". A lot more people died of this weapon platform in countries like Afghanistan, the continent of Africa as a whole, Czechoslovakia, Bolivia, Romania then did Americans when they were invading other countries. Don't act like NATO produced firearms haven't gotten in the hands of militias, rebels and terrorists alike either because they have.

Mr. Kalashnikov was just a man, just like everyone else that has created weapons over the years. The people that you should be hating on are the ones that use them to murder innocent people.

I forget sarcasm doesn't translate through the internet.

I've seen this news story all around today since I first came on my computer this morning and that was the TL;DR of every first post I saw about it.  So I went full ironic with my post.

Lesson learned: Never go full ironic on the internet.

Can someone please invent a sarcasm font because I would use it so very much.

Oh, I wonder if there's some basic simple word editing that can help, oh bother, I guess there's nothing. Not even something called italics...

Fight nice children..

Anyways, shame that he died, though he was pretty old so it's not like it was unexpected to happen soon.. As for the bit about him being a good/bad person cause of his guns... Well, in my opinion, his gun was just a means to an end as far as war is concerned. If he hadn't make the AK then surely someone else would have made a weapon similar or even more deadly than it, or we would be using some other weapon and still be killing each other anyways. Too be honest I like the fact that

I can't blame the man for creating something to help his country. I don't like the use of guns for "Defense" or killing each other but. But in the end it's a necessity in wartimes.

Plus he made it to "Defend his country" from Germany after the shit show that was World War 2 so I can't blame him.
+ the bit about agriculture, cause it shows (to me) that he'd have probably not designed the weapon at all if not for WWII...

^My two cents.

Italics helps. Or the official Sarc Mark.
Honestly I couldn't even see that as sarcastic. The use of periods and straight up bluntness made me draw a conclusion that  you were 100% serious. No worries though, just give it a huehue or something so people don't get thrown off :P

Yeah TBH not sure why you would hate the guy. And it's not like Ak-47s are the leading cause of death to Americans or anything....
Should probably say good riddance to Paula Deen when she dies. How many Americans has she killed?  trollface

No but in all serious. What he did was pretty impressive. And sounds like with good intentions mainly. Also "Guns don't kill people, people kill people"

Technically the bullet from the weapon kills the person, and it is the person controlling whether or not the object is launched! Please stop necroing! It is extremely annoying, as none of these topics will be revived.
