Servers not responding
« on: September 25, 2010, 06:11:34 PM »
No matter how many restarts I do I just can't see any servers. When I go to view a friends game it says the server is not responding. Anyone know a good fix?
I already restarted Steam/computer many times and even reinstalled Steam and reset my internet plenty of times.

I had that problem once, then I fucked around with the firewall exceptions by unchecking all the hl2.exe's in the firewall exceptions list and re-unblocked them when prompted and I could join the servers again.

I don't have my firewall turned on (it always shuts off after turning it on) But I tried your method and it didn't work. Should I do it when Steam is shut down or what?

It's worth trying. I don't remember doing that, though. :P

ive had the problem, but not remembering exaclty how i fixed it.  either it was something simple like a steam restart, or i closed steam, deleted ClientRegistry.blob then restarted steam.  can you join a game from your friends list?  like right click a friend who is on a server and click join game?

Luna started the rover's engine.  "AEIOU!" She shouted as she slammed the gas and crashed through the wall.
