8gb ram minimum, i-5, as i-7 seems to have no major advantage for gaming, SSD of high quality, 120gb minimum, 2tb + hard drive, the highest end ati/amd graphics you can afford.

Get a full size case, as it helps with ease of install.

Get Windows 7.  Avoid 8, until the second service pack (whatever color comes after blue...)

Do you plan on overclocking it ? If so you need to buy a CPU cooler, the stock one is not enough.

You DO NOT WANT windows 8, it is bad, and I mean it is designed for tablets (or hybrids like the microsoft Surface) and has problem when you try to use it like a regular desktop OS, like using real .exe programs instead of their apps can cause problems.

Get Windows 7 (I bought an official install ISO from a microsoft gold certified online store if you need somewhere legit to get it from).

IMO Radeon cards suck the last few years so I suggest Nvidia, everything else seems in order.  (Radeon used to be good competition but the last few years Nvidia has smoked Radeon when it comes to cost versus game performance, check the benchmarks)

Case really doesn't matter all that much, every time I build a PC, the case is just whatever they decide my stuff fits in.

Luna started the rover's engine.  "AEIOU!" She shouted as she slammed the gas and crashed through the wall.

Completely ignore the gaming world's complaint of Windows 8. Kay.

Edit: Plus that's one hell of an expensive first build. Don't mess up, and make sure you get warranty and all that.

Windows 8 isn't really bad, it's just that it's not Windows XP or 7. It entirely depends on if you want to learn a new operating system since it does work somewhat differently.

I say get a full sized tower for additional space and easier setup.

Other than that it looks good.

I send the parts to Frys electronics and they build it, as well as give a warranty.
