Comodo antivirus. ITS FREE and totally kicks ass
and has about 1000000 FP (false positives)

So no, never get that. It use to be good maybe 15 years ago!

I'm told Microsoft Security Essentials is actually really good.
You can use Avast if you'd like, I know cadaver hates Avast but meh.

AntiVir might be promising.

I have ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

You may have never heard of it, but it's fucking kick ass. Norton slows my computer during a quick-scan, but this AV I can run a full-scan and have my games running smoothly, as well.

When it was recommended to me, I was a little iffy about buying it, but seeing my bad experience with Norton, I didn't want to go with that. And what the guy said was true; it's a very good AV, and I can run a scan anytime I want, in-game or out of game. It doesn't lag my computer, and I haven't had a single virus issue since I installed it.

Would recommend that for you.

What is a false positive? Just so I can know why I shouldn't trust them.

False positives are when antiviruses block a safe program such as a steam game for instance... All you need to do (for comodo antivirus that is) is either add the program to safe programs or turn down the sensitivity so it doesn't freak out when a new game runs.

Everyone's suggesting stupid stuff to you. I worked a for a long time with virus and products related to moving them. I'm even a Malwarebytes Affiliate.

Get Microsoft Security Essentials and Malwarebytes. Both are free.
Their is a paid version of Malwarebytes  which offers some on demand protection, which I highly recommend if you can spare the cash. Malwarebytes pro is only $25 and is only a one time Payment.

The reason I recommend both is because Security Essentials will keep out MOST things but Malwarebytes is probably one of the best scanning software's available, and will clear out anything it misses.

They will not conflict with each other and work great along side each other. I don't use Essentials and still Love AVAST however I'm told essentials is great and from what I've scene of it on PC's seems to be fine.

Malwarebytes: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Malwarebytes PRO: https://store.malwarebytes.org/342/?affiliate=2169&scope=cart&cart=29945

If you can afford pro PLEASE use my link as like I said I am an affiliate.

Anyways hope this helps. Feel free to ask questions. Also I'm usually always available for virus removal assistance. I worked doing that for a while tbh. And my Assistance is free XD.

Whatever you do. DO NOT USE NORTON OR MCAFEE. There are much better alternatives. Norton itself is pretty much a virus as it digs deep into your system.
