There's been so many of these predictions I don't really believe in any of them anymore. Also it's funny how a majority of these predictions actually have a slim chance of hitting us behind them.

Even if that .1% chance happened, couldn't we just nuke it?
Think pretty much every international space treaty signed by just about everyone prohibits doing stuff like that. Nukes in high orbit = very bad things for a lot of people. Fallout in jetstreams isn't a good thing.

But yeah, we could probably hit it with your regular store-brand ICBM. Just no nuclear payload.
Who said in the Atmosphere? Im talking before it even gets close to the moon.
I don't think you quite understand what kind of jurisdiction a Space treaty encompasses. Even then, using nukes on it when it's far out is still a bad idea. The leftover debris would still be moving in the same general direction, and there's no guarantee that it'll all be far enough away from the Earth. Sure the debris would likely not be as catastrophic, but again, you're potentially releasing radioactive material into the atmosphere.

Just gonna leave this here...

http://history.nasa.gov/conghand/nuclear.htm

Basically what I'm trying to say is a nuke would be useless. Space is a vacuum. Which means no waves. Which means no blast or heat, only a shit ton of radiation.

Soooo if it is gonna hit us we can't blow it up. No meteor showers for us! :(

The plunger could simply be out of view, the pants + it's location behind the toilet may hide it... Or it's a fraud and we need to take down the system with out golden axes while destroying the rest of the demon-spawn so that we may live in a utopia.

19 years is a long time to develop more advanced missiles to destroy it or more advanced methods to deflect it, by the time a significant asteroid crosses our path head on we would be able to deal with it easily. We are far more of a threat to ourselves than any random space rock heading our way.
