Opinions plox. Was my first attempt at doing an animated layer over a background.

Pretty cool but the sprite looks a bit odd without a shadow or something where the ground would be under him

Luna started the rover's engine.  "AEIOU!" She shouted as she slammed the gas and crashed through the wall.

Shadows are your only problem, in my opinion. It seems strange that the effects would be coming out of the "ground" and there are not shadows for either the effects or the sprite.

Unfortunately, to me, it looks like an indiscernible mishmash.

[constructivecriticism]
First, as 'Tovski said below, not really any shadows, so the sprite is pretty damn odd.

Second, background doesn't work very well (Get rid of them motion blurs and just use some soft film grain and either motion blur them a little, or pinch and ripple, then work upon that).

Lastly, purple might just be me but it doesn't exactly work well with the background you intend, and the lighting for it is a bit harsh.
[/constructivecriticism]

I think if you work on this more, it could become something awesome.

Purple is actually part of the characters color scheme naturally.

I get yah about the sprite thing, but because its an entirely different sprite sheet I actually don't have access to the normal sprite, and because this sprite itself requires over 80 layers to just animate it, I REALLY don't feel like making a shadow for each one of them.
