Help Section / Steam Dump File

I was just using a program to look around and find out what's taking up the most space on my tiny little hard drive.

In the Steam/Dumps file; I found 44+ GB of essentially useless files for games I had thought I uninstalled. Given my second hard drive is broken I only have 100GB and was wondering where all my space went.

L4D2 alone took up 14GB of space but I don't think that's just the Dump file; and apparently those are just all developer stuff that you can refer to when the game crashes or whatever. Again all these games have been uninstalled except for Portal2 and ZPS, just not all the way I suppose. Didn't know they stuck around like that.

If nobody knew of this or doesn't already have a problem that deletes that stuff; take a look and see if you can free up some space.

Of course for games you have installed it'd be wise not to delete it all; but I haven't played L4D2 in months and yet there was 14GB of crap on it. My ZPS section in the /steam/dumps section though holds all the demo files and whatnot; so if that's how it works for Gmod I'm sure the admins know about this somewhat. Maybe they never noticed how much space can be taken up though.

I'm glad that's the only episode of the UK Voice I watched because I didn't want to watch anymore after that, she was awesome but the judges are retarded. Especially Will-I-Am who specializes in saying "That's really dope, and then you sung that thing; and I was like, that's dope two times-"

Skip to 1:15 if you hate talking prequel bullshit; and I'm mostly mad because of some of the terrible voices that got selected over her before. Apparently they were down to their last selections though so fuck them.

Reason for resignation: Expecting lot's of future inactivity. Girlfriend doesn't like the extended computer usage when we're home together, understandable; so adjusting playing schedule. I'll rarely be playing anymore, and I've already been inactive, using an existing away thread as an excuse. It's been a nice run but there's probably a better choice for Head Admin at this point. I'll take vet or no admin at all; I'd play a bit here and there regardless.

 I'll still do FTP if Wholegrain wants, or he can do any ZPS business if it stays up. My ideas for replacements are Multigrain, Sly, or maybe even Patty. Not sure if Multi is currently up for HA and I know Doc doesn't want it. It's not like any of them really know how to work FTP. Anywho; good luck with the ZPS server, again I'll help when I can, and will be on the forums sometimes.

Temporary?: Possibly. I'm not sure.

Here we'll post snapshot information as it comes, and discuss the upcoming additions to minecraft! I'll post the last 3 for now;

    Villagers will now react positively on new trades, and negatively if you hurt them
        This effect only takes place if the villager recognizes nearby housing, most commonly with naturally spawned villagers
        There is a third, unused particle effect added of a villager's face looking angry. Angry Villager Particle.png
    Villagers will not remove trades, but trading something else may be required to renew the old ones
    Zombies, Skeletons and Zombie Pigmen sometimes spawn wearing equipment including enchanted weapons and any type of armor, depending on the difficulty level.
    Added Zombie Villagers
        Villagers have a chance of turning into zombies after being killed by one.
        Zombie spawn eggs may spawn zombie villagers.
        Zombie villagers can naturally spawn.
        Zombie villagers can be cured, becoming normal Villagers again.
            To do this, first use a Splash Potion of Weakness on it. Then, right-click on it with a level one Golden Apple. After several minutes, it will turn back into a normal villager.[2]
    Rarely, villagers can spawn in the nether near nether portals.
    New "villages.dat" file in the data folder of world saves
    Added the Command Block intended for adventure maps.
        It can run server commands when triggered by a redstone signal.
            You can use @player or @p as a placeholder for the nearest player.
        This block will not be craftable and is currently not available in the creative mode inventory, but can be obtained via the command /give 137
    New commands:
        /difficulty <new difficulty>
        /gamerule <rule name> [value]. Value can be defined as false / true. All rules except keepInventory are true by default. The available rules are as follows:
            doFireTick (false=fire cannot spread)
            mobGriefing (false=creeper explosions do not damage blocks)
            keepInventory (true=keep inventory on death)
            doMobSpawning (false=mobs do not spawn)
            doMobLoot (false=mobs do not drop loot)
            doTileDrops (false=blocks do not drop items when breaking)
        /spawnpoint [player] [<x> <y> <z>]
        /weather <clear/rain/thunder> [duration in seconds]
    Added the Beacon Block (Named "Work in Progress" ingame).
        By building a pyramid composed of storage blocks such as Blocks of Emerald or Blocks of Diamond and placing this block on top, the player gains access to several powers.
            A full pyramid can provide level II powers, should the player select the level I variation in the primary powers section.
        It can not be crafted, although a crafting recipe is planned.
            It can be obtained via the "Miscellaneous" tab in the creative inventory, or with the /give 138 command.
        The minimum range is 16 blocks
        Gives off a light level of 15, as bright as Glowstone
        Players within the blocks' range will be given the selected effects every 4 seconds
        The best configuration of blocks requires 164 blocks
    A working Potion of Night Vision is in the creative inventory.
    Zombie Attack Animation shows when it's holding a weapon.
    Iron Golems now attack Slimes and Magma Cubes.

        Maps can be zoomed out (but not zoomed in)
    Stairs now auto-arrange into corners. This is a test and may change based on feedback.
    Mobs (and all other entities) can travel through portals.
    Leather armor can be dyed.
        The default color of leather has changed.
        You can right-click a full cauldron with dyed armor to remove dye.
    Tamed Wolves' collars can be dyed.
    Removed the “Work in Progress block” from the Creative menu.
    Added two new crops (carrots and potatoes) and associated items.
        Carrots
            Golden carrots
        Potatoes
            Baked potatoes
            Poisonous potatoes
        Carrots and potatoes can be planted in tilled soil.
        Zombies have a chance to drop a carrots and potatoes.
    F3+P will toggle the auto-pause when the window loses focus (mainly for debugging).
    F3+H will toggle detailed item descriptions (also for debugging).
    Added arrow-sensitive wooden buttons.
    The particle effect when a trade with a Villager has been successful has changed.
    Trapdoors can be placed in top-most position (based on cross-hair aim).
    Added a mob called a Wither, only available through external modification such as editing mob spawners, mods, or hacks. It shoots exploding projectiles called Wither Skulls and destroys nearby blocks. It also has a boss health bar.
    Added Potion of Invisibility.
        Mobs do not attack you until you bump into them.
        Potion also hides the player's name tag.
    Fire spreads differently based on difficulty.
    Brewing recipes for Potions of Night Vision and Invisibility added:
        Potion of Night Vision is brewed by adding a golden carrots to a Awkward Potion.
        Potion of Invisibility is brewed by adding a Fermented Spider Eye to a Potion of Night Vision.
    Added an unused texture in gui/items.png.
    Mob grinders now give less XP when you farm them continuously.

    Changed recipes for buttons. They now require 1 stone block/wooden plank to craft.
    Leather and diamond armor textures slightly changed:
        Leather armor sleeves are extended by one pixel.
            Their item texture has been changed to match the new texture.
        Diamond armor sleeves now have a notch on the inner side.
    Tweaked the “hidden feature” (still not ready for release).
    Removed "map_#/#" on the map and added "Map #" in the tool tip
    Added boss names above boss health.
    When taken down to half health, Withers will gain Wither armor, making them immune to arrows.
    Zombies will now pick items up from the ground.
        Zombies and Skeletons can now pick up armor and swords and wear it.

Minecraft / New Blue Leader

I, Pillz, am retiring the rank of Blue Faction Leader to Waffulz. She is now in charge of who gets mod, what land should be claimed and what the faction should do in general. That's what I intended to do but I haven't really been playing much and being greifed twice I just kinda started living in a hole and digging. I'd be more interested in playing alone with 1-3 people somewhere far away for now and maybe starting a faction later.


Old Crow and Waffulz have both been informed and talked to about this, and if she ever wants to give it away she can; but I for sure don't need to remain faction leader. We just decided to make this thread to inform everyone properly, and so you can all strongly disagree and get mad if you want too.

So talk to Waffulz if you want into Blue faction or if you have any ideas for the Blues.

After made a moderator or in the faction, I believe you can type /f help 1,2,3 for commands and information. God bless the Queen.

Zombie Panic: Source / Crashing for "Update"?

The server sometimes crashes and when I go to control panel to restart it, it tells me "The server is currently being updated. It will be started when the update is finished"

Wat. There is no ZPS update at least.. and the other server never crashed.. and all 116 other ZPS servers were up.

Any ideas? This has happened 1-3 times in the past month or two.

I will be posting a log of ZPS admins hours every Friday. Since it's going to be weekly I'll be requesting my admins get at least 15 hours of ZPS in before the log is out. If you feel you can't make this deadline, post an away thread explaining why or PM me about it. I'll also be looking at your playtimes on GameTracker to determine when you were playing and when you weren't.

We aren't punishing anyone for the current hours yet, just letting everyone know we're watching hours again. So start getting them up! Next weeks or the week after that; we'll start really yelling at people for their hours.

20+ hours is awesome, 11-20 hours is passing but slacking, and less than 10 hours is bad.

First thing; Death runs have been removed from rotation. They, and other entertaining but not casual ZPS style maps have been moved to Fun Nights! This MAY NOT be permanent; we will see how it affects the server over the next few weeks and decide if this is a good choice or not; we've been so infinitely populated lately and I want to see how the server does with maps that focus on the standard ZPS gameplay. If you don't like it or think it's not a good idea, let me know; I'm not 100% sure but a lot of the regular players are more than happy to see them go.

Seond thing; WHAT IS FUN NIGHT? Fun Night used to be where we use to password the server, usually only forum members who saw the password on the funnight thread thread could get in, but we won't be doing that. Fun Night will include all the deathruns, and other fun maps like Smashcannonz, van_volleyball, buses from hell, and many other maps that we just didn't wanna put in rotation for one reason or another. They're all fun and exciting, and the present admins will be allowed to make votes to make the night funner. I'll always be there to start and end it though; when those times and days can vary, but hopefully a consistent date will be established.

+Fun Nights will last about 3-4 hours; usually from 8PM or so to 12AM East coast; 5PM-9PM for West Coast and like 1AM-4000AD for Europeans. As the date changes so might the times, I will update those here; or will repost if this thread becomes crowded. Save map suggestions for the map suggestions thread, or feel free to make your own threads.

+Events created could be:
+ do mazeland on drugs
+ have skybox battles on Iceland
+ Headshot only mode on any given map
+ enable deathmatch mode and have infinite survivor respawn "every man for himself" battles on any map
+ attempt deathruns with zombies chasing you and using traps on you too
+ simply play the deathruns (the secret reason 60% of people will be on the server at the time)
+ play gravitywars or cabinetrape and melee couches and filing cabinets into anyone you can
+ play van volleyball where you try to punt vans into the opposite team to kill them
+ play the ferris wheel map and jizz everywhere
+ chacha slide?

TL;DR WE'LL DO WHATEVER THE FUCK WE CAN TO ENTERTAIN YOU<3

+Fun Night will be held once a week, and maybe eventually once every other week; but we'll shut the server down for a few minutes before and then change the maplist to funnights maps. If anyone has any requests, find links and files for me; we'll play it JUST FOR YOU. If you ever have any suggestions to make fun night funner, just let us know.

+The timelimit for funnight will be changed from 45 to either 15 or 20. This way we can vote if anything becomes to incredibly annoying, and if it's fucking amazing, vote 6 for extend! If you don't play ZPS, maybe these are the nights to play. Not all veterans are admin though; if you want admin before you attend let me know.

Help Section / Missing D: drive?

So for a week or so my AMD drivers were crashing or something; like I'd be typing something into a text box and backspacing would crash my drivers for a second and they'd reboot; so that's fun. And after that started happening some of my music files that all came from the same website; something became corrupt and I couldn't listen to any of my Renard and I just deleted the entire file and didn't see any more problems; but I shut my computer down this morning and when I rebooted; the D: drive ceased to exist. I can't find it anywhere on device manager or w/e; but I haven't tried looking for it in BiOS.

Actually, when looking at the mounting/dismounting drives area; found that and it says its unallocated and unknown.. And fire fox froze like it did before the drivers crash just a few minutes ago, firefox freezes up then so do other programs and it's bluescreened after that's happened 3-5 times and I've probably seen 6-7 bluescreens total, usually I give up what I'm doing before it happens now. Not sure if that's related or not but GODD

That's all off my facebook, didn't feel like re-explaining but that about covers it. Basically I rebooted my computer one morning and the D: drive ceased to exist and all my music doesn't play, since that's where it all was. I still have my 100GB SSD running most everything but my backup's gone; and on top of that my video drivers have been crashing. If anyone has any ideas or anything, help a brother out. I'm coming to yall before I go to tech support.. god forbid..
