Admin Time Away Forum / No Swedish Desires for Hidden & Personal Life
« on: September 16, 2013, 10:00:07 PM »
Name: Cash Prizes

Time you are leaving: Right now

In Which server you are admin on: All Hidden servers

Estimated time/date of return: I honestly do not know

Additional Comments: Lately, these past few weeks I've lost the desire to play Hidden. NOT entirely but for the most part I don't have that same Swedish zeal and spark for the game anymore. Also with my personal life, job, family, etc that has been up and down as of late makes it difficult for me to get on and play.

For respect for my Good Master Pyro I will just submit a time away. I know I'll get back into the Hidden later but not right now. I'll still be on the forums no doubt! Thanks for your leadership and the relationship we have established (NO Leet, just a normal Hidden relationship).

P.S. YES! Most likely I will be flying down to your great land in December. We'll discuss later in details. :) <3

Admin Time Away Forum / Stud leaving to West Virginia
« on: July 19, 2013, 11:05:39 PM »
Name: Cash Prizes

Time you are leaving: July 20th, 2013

In Which server you are admin on: Hidden

Estimated time/date of return: July 27th, 2013

Additional Comments: My uncle and I have been discussing for a while a little trip together; just the two of us. Finally agreed to something. Plus, it's been too long since I've interacted with female creatures. Hope to find some lovely individuals there in West Virginia. Not as lovely as Serb chicks but oh well.

Farewell my brethren.

Ban Request / How to Gather Proper Evidence
« on: June 01, 2013, 08:15:23 PM »
There are 2 main methods that can be used and accepted as proper evidence for ban requests. Grabbing a screenshot of the misbehaviour or creating a proper demo. I will lay out the simple step-by-step instructions on how to do so. BOTH methods are equally acceptable.

1st Method - SCREENSHOTS

1) Open up the console with the "~" key.

2) Once the console window is open, press the screenshot button that you have set. Example F5 or F3. The default screenshot key for Steam is F12.

3) Once you have taken a picture, upload it to your steam account.

4) Afterwards, locate your screenshot in the "Screenshots" heading. Click on the desired image.

5) Once you have clicked on the desired image this will pop up. Please copy and paste the following link as shown as you will be using this as proof on your ban request. NOTE: Please ensure that the information in the console shows the misbehaviour. Ex) Teamkilling, Inappropriate Language, etc.

2nd Method - DEMOS

This section will explain how to make a proper demo. We require that demos be made a certain way in order to help us confirm who the player is and what he/she is doing wrong.

1) Join team "Spectator in your current game. Ensure that you are spectating the correct player.

2) Once in Spectator, open up the console with the "~" key.

3) In the console window type record "player name" (MUST HAVE QUOTES) and press the enter key or hit submit. NOTE: Please include aimbot/hacking, etc after the player name.

4) When it says "recording to "name.dem" type status in the console window and then press the enter key. (Status will lock the STEAM IDs of everyone in the server into the demo).

5) Once you feel you have gathered and recorded sufficient proof, open the console again and type stop, and then press the enter key or submit. This will end the demo.

6) Once you have typed stop you should see something along these lines. If you do, you have created a proper demo. If not, refer to step one and try again. Ensure that quotes are used when needed.

7) Once you have recorded the demo be sure to play it back and ensure that you have captured the misbehaviour (Teamkilling, RDM, etc) and that you have sufficient footage (not having a demo that's 10 seconds long). It would be fruitless to have a demo submitted only to find out that it was corrupted or lack of evidence was provided. Please double check your recorded footage. To play back your captured demo open up the console and type playdemo "demo file name here" and press the enter key or hit submit.

8) Locate your demo. Navigate into your game file to retrieve the .dem file for submission in the ban request. I will show a few examples for various games. Just find the appropriate game in the correct folder and go from there.

For Hidden you will find the demo in your Local Disk (C:)\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods\hidden

For TF2 you will find the demo in your Local Disk (C:)\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\youraccount\team fortress 2\tf folder

For other Source games there is no difference. Just follow the layout shown above.

9) Once you have located your correct demo file, copy and paste that onto your desktop. Open this website http://www.filesmelt.com/ and upload the demo from there.

Once it is uploaded, copy and paste that link on the ban request thread that you will/have created and stick it under the proof subheading. Administrators will be able to grab it easier and review it for proper submission.

Latest Modification(s): 06/01/2013 - Added an additional step verifying that demo footage was appropriate and that the proper evidence was captured.

Solved Ban Requests / Ban Request Proper Format
« on: May 30, 2013, 07:36:55 PM »
To grab the proper information needed for a concrete ban request, please follow the simply step-by-step instructions to do so:

First: Open up the console and type in 'status' and hit submit.

Second: Copy and paste the offender's name and STEAM ID as shown.

Third: Take the user's STEAM ID that you have copied and paste it on the search field on http://steamrep.com/ and hit search.

Fourth: Once the result appears verify that the STEAM ID from your screenshot and contained in the console matches with the search. From there, grab the user's Steam Community URL as you will be using this in the ban request.

Ban Request Format

Use the format shown below when making a proper ban request:

Solved Applications / [Hidden] Cash Prizes Application
« on: May 04, 2013, 03:55:34 PM »
Were you recommended by an admin? If so state the name: Pyro

In game name: Cash Prizes

Link to your steam page: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198004780367/

Steam ID: STEAM_0:1:22257319

Do you have past admin experience: Yes. I used to be an admin for Fragmasters way back when and I'm currently an admin for XXL Gamers. I bring to the table 2 years of admin experience and I know the responsibilities and duties it entails.

Why you wish to be admin: First off, I realize that CG is short on Hidden admins. I want to make CG an enjoyable gaming environment. I realize that not all admins are available 24/7 to address certain issues. I want to stop the people who are deliberately breaking rules and creating a toxic environment to users who won't deserve it on the hidden servers. However, because I'm not an admin it is difficult for me to handle such things. By becoming an admin I aim to prevent this from occurring and providing a fun, non-toxic gaming environment.

What are some good qualities you possess: Being an admin for 2 different communities I posses a level of maturity, humbleness, and one who is keen on giving users a second chance rather than a flat out ban, able to accept responsibility and act accordingly on such problems, and I'm quite active on the forums (usually 1-3 hours a day). I enjoy coming on the forums and reading previous posts about the community.

What country are you from: Gothenburg, Sweden

Age: 20

Microphone: (yes or no) Yes, I own a microphone and I'm quite vocal (Echo can attest to this).

Additional Notes: Pyro has given me the greenlight on applying and I realize that CG is in need of European admins. I've also read the admin user manual and I've shared my experiences of how I handled certain situations with Echochrome and Mr_Rainbow.

Admin Department / Just Curious about Hidden Bans
« on: May 03, 2013, 11:32:36 AM »
So I took notice that most of the hidden bans are 3 hours (by TK limit reached) and 1 week instated by an admin. This post is NOT intended to put down how anyone rules or how ruling is done period. Simple curious. But why are the Hidden bans 1 week in length? Would it not seem just to ban a user for perhaps a day, or two? Again not saying that there is anything wrong. Just curious. I realize that there are users deliberately causing mischief and creating a toxic environment and exposing users to it (who don't deserve it) and should be dealt with accordingly.

My experience as admin for 2 different communities was to start with a day or two and hopefully the user realizes what he/she did was not allowed and comes back on the server with a changed attitude.

Again, NOT intending to hurt how anyone rules or how ruling is done in general, I'm only here from curiosity.

If you feel this post should be removed/modified in your discretion, then please do so.

So I've been playing for about 10 hours now and only managed to win 2 out of the 4 available items. Someone care to throw out some pointers? Or anything for that matter. Or maybe the game just doesn't want Swedish players to win. :P
