How big is your steamfolder?

My steam folder is 69.6GB. I was honestly surprised I barely have any games installed. Must be all the random Garry's mod files I download everytime I join a server.

I'm pretty sure there are NO PROGRAMS OR GAMES aside from heavy-duty video editing or 3d rendering that could ever make use of 32GB of RAM.

Right now I am YET to see a game that utilizes more than 8GB, and that was an anomaly around most that only use 4GB

Even dling porn, torrents, games, streaming, having hammer and sfm open along with a game wouldn't use that much ram.

because i want: Gmod on highest quality, Fraps on high quality, Heavy duty Editing, SFM all on highest quality and at the moment i can barely record Gmod on 720p(i have to put it down to lowest quality)

as i use about 50% ram on my PC on Idle... and then i got Steam&chrome open

Edit: i only have 3 GB ram so yea...

That wont help for that.  Also I'm going to assume you use windows 7? Windows 7 eats up 50% ram as a method of having your pc run smoother, it frees more when it's needed. However, with what you want to do I could see 8GB making scene.

But windows 7 can decieve you on ram usage due to what I just said.
It's a little more complex then that but I just got home and I'm busy eating lol leave me alone.

im using Windows 7, but my Father also uses Windows 7 but he only gets on 20% with 8GB,

i have 3GB because i wanted my PC fast and they didnt have more than that(1 card of 2 1 card of 1 GB for RAM) so this is how i ended up...

and with PC wizard it says that i use 50%...
