Is mayonnaise an instrument?

I'm basically an artistic dud.  Besides, of course, when I put mayonnaise on my sandwiches - then I turn into a condimental Beethoven.
Besides two days of piano practice in the 4th grade, I haven't ever really touched an instrument.
