RalphORama's Tekkit Server / (12/28/13) High CPU usage
« on: December 29, 2013, 01:04:22 AM »
So I noticed that Ralph's server was eating up a bunch of the CPU.
I have no idea what's causing it, but I turned it off until Ralph can explain what happened.

Blah. I'm always late to the party. Welcome aboard, hope you don't end up selling your soul to CG like the rest of us. ;)

In all seriousness, nice to meet ya! :)
Selling my soul? I already sold my soul to Twitter, what're you talking about?

I don't think you understand

Welcome to Indian Tech Support, may I take your bags?
But no seriously every big company has shitty tech support. Don't even get me started on EA. (Holy shit FUCK EA so much I just needed to get my free BF3 voucher for ps3 and they are too stupid to correctly answer my god damn question.)
Also not defending skype or its makers (fuck microshit too)

fuck everyone hnnnng so much anger
Not EVERY company has shit support.
For example, I had really good experience with OVH (a server leasing company), and when I called them for support, not only they quickly replied (no machine "support"), and got shit done in an orderly manner! It all depends on the quality of the company, not how "big" it is.

RalphORama's Tekkit Server / Re: Ralph's server (BACK UP)
« on: December 22, 2013, 03:23:15 PM »
just FYI, there might still be a little bit of downtime, since I haven't finished setting up the ENTIRE server.
I still gotta restore MySQL DBs, and nginx webpages, so forth.

Could this mean that anything done between now and the potential downtime will be lost? or possibly lost? Because if so, I'll just wait xD
No, the server will save like normally. It just means I might have to shut it down from time to time.

Hey there. Welcome to CG :)

mind enlightening us with your coding knowledge? I know a couple of us who are willing to learn but don't know where to start.
Well, it depends in what general direction you want to start.

Initially, I'd recommend reading at least a few of these books (with this being the first one), as they're a great series, but after there, it's up to you to choose your language(s). Some quick googling on the popular languages and programs that were made in that language could be a good place to start.
