People don't revere him as a hero because they think every decision he made was flawless, they revere him because he was still better than the people who ran the South African government before him. Besides, there isn't a single thing on that list that hasn't been done by almost every leader in the western world.

Really, the man's body is barely cold and already people are using his death as a political talking point.

Whether it was through economic domination or through military aid for militia groups, notably the UNITA organization that fought against the MPLA in the 27 year long Angolan civil war (1975-2002). Even if he was a politician in a different country he would still be a politician. Generally speaking politicians do bad shit, especially powerful ones.

Mandela was a revolutionary, and revolutions have historically not been very void of death.
