So I was gonna buy a new power supply cause my current 650W supply works but teh fan died and I have another fan doing its job but its kinda half-assed and I worry it won't work this way forever.

The problem: I DUNNO WHAT THE CONNECTORS ARE CALLED

for example:

1 x 20+4pin Main Connector
1 x 4+4pin CPU
6 x SATA
1 x 6pin PCI-E
1 x 6+2pin PCI-E
6 x Peripheral

Ok I know SATA obviously, but what is all this addition shit?  20+4?  4+4?  6+2?

Why isnt it 24, 8, and 8?  My motherboard takes a 24 pin connector, is that what they mean by 20+4?

I need a supply with the 24-pin plug for the motherboard, at least 4 of the 4-pin plugs to power IDE devices (HDD, DVD burner, extra fans), one SATA, two 6-pin connectors for my video card, and it looks like there's a 4-pin square connector also going to my motherboard.

In the past, I've always known the power supply would have teh right plugs, but now that I'm using multiple HDD's of different types, and I have a higher-end video card that requires a SECOND 6-pin plug, I'm not sure if what I get will have all that.

Ideally I could get away with people explaining what all that gibberish up there means, but also if people want to suggest power supplies to use, I'm gonna buy through NewEgg, and as I have 650W right now I don't see myself needing any more than 650-750W from teh supply, I'm looking at from 50-100 bucks to spend on it, no more.

I asked a friend of mine. He wants to know your specs before he wants to recommend anything.

Side note: he's too busy banging chicks to create his own account to post for himself.

You sir are correct. 20+4 is a 24 pin, and 4+4 is an 8 pin. Its just split up into two parts. For example I have a 6+2 plugged in to my GPU and a 4+4 plugged into my CPU. On the gpu the plug is split off into two different thingy ma bobbers to plug in, one has 6 of the squares, one has two. You just plug both in as if it were a normal 8 pin. And btw theres no need to worry about a PSU coming with a 24 pin and a 8 pin for your CPU. Those two connections are standard, they come with every PSU.

Debating of just saying fuck it and getting this modular one which has more plugs than anyone will ever need,
plus every review is 5-eggs, only $15 more than the 650W one I was looking at

Get the modular for sure because it makes cable management a million times easier.

Nonono you don't want evga. Sure they make good gpus but that doesnt equal good psus. Get a corsair, seasonic, antec, or even a XFX.

And way more than I care to pay for a lowly power supply :P  Who needs 1000W unless you're running dual video cards?

Err on the side of investing big now, so you don't have to upgrade later.

But I found this nice one that fits your price range well.
