I put a few hours in but as it stands there isn't a whole lot to do. There needs to be a lot more depth before I can really get into it.

I have both and I can honestly say Rust is way more fun.

DayZ is eh (don't play it anymore because rust woo) but I have it.

I got this game 6 days ago, and I'm already 42 hours in. Know what buildings what and which don't.
Not enough zombies, but they are implementing that in the future.
Everyone armed, have military grade gear or near military complexes are considered hostile.
More bandits than you expect.
If the bandits don't kill you, the game glitches and bugs will.

Overall, it's a good game so far, I enjoyed first time experience with day Z.
Wouldn't recommend if you get frustrated dying.
Definitely play with friends, in groups preferably. Save the $30 for later, when the game's issue gets better.
Unless they're going to jack up the price when it's finished, just like Minecraft, then you should buy it now.

Lol. Yeah its pretty disappointing with all the glitches and bug but it is an alpha =)
But damn gonna love the finnished product though. anyone more than me that has seen the ducttape in there?
Im hoping for weaponbuild alá Dead island.

Gotta love the graphics and the new inventory system with the guns and the modular slots on the guns ^^,
