Made a recruitment post in the ZPS forums explaining CG's recent history and server changes. I don't think this will get us much traffic but recently a couple of older players asked where our servers were for a while and whatnot; and I kind of want to talk about the history behind our name. Just was kinda bored and saw the other recruitment posts so I wanted to make one for us now that we're back in business; maybe catching us a little attention and players along the way.

In the meantime, if you're in CG and reading this now; but don't have ZPS installed- INSTALL IT. It's FREE, and while it's different than what you're used to it's an amazing game. You don't have to wait and spectate when you die, instead you become a zombie and you have to eat your old teammates who let you die! What more could you want?! I've played over 2,700 hours of the game, so I think it's at least worth a few hours of your time. <3 Come play with me, we have like no admins or dedicated players anymore; and I miss the good ole times where the server was always booming and I wasn't the only one trying to populate it. The more people we have playing all the time and helping out, the funner the game gets. Then fun nights might become a thing again and who knows what else!

I can't support the server by myself forever though; I don't want the server to die completely if I have to leave for one reason or another. Believe in yourselves and believe in ZPS!

Play fair and DO THE OBJECTIVES/No Delaying rounds
On objective maps, stick with the team and do what the game instructs you too; you can split up and do your own thing, just don't camp and be useless or hoard ammo for guns you don't have. Wasting barricades, wasting ammo, hoarding ammo for guns you don't have, camping and simply being AFK will ultimately be the death of you and your team. The admins won't be too mad unless you're a constant issue with the players, so just try to work with the team. Anyone gone afk or just hiding to prevent their inevitable death will be slain; unless the map allows it.

Don't be a Douche/Troll
If you constantly are disrespectful or harmful to the team/server; you will be warned and banned. There's no reason for you to be here if you're just upsetting the whole server. Play right and be nice to the other players, because it's just a game, and if you have a problem, tell the admins. Don't be surprised if you're gagged or muted for being a cunt, if you listen to the admins warnings or agree to cooperate, you'll always be allowed to stay and play.

No Ghosting
If you're on spectator, don't try to direct the humans/zombies to one another. Humans see everyone as another human on micchat, so zombies can trick them but if anyone interferes unfairly they'll be muted or gagged.

Don't Waste Death-Run Traps
If you're going to press a button on a deathrun, please only do so when there's a chance you'll actually kill someone. Some of the traps don't reset, and even the ones that do take two to three minutes to come back depending on the map. If you press every button on the entire map, you'll probably get kicked before you can even finish; and if you're a repeat offender you'll be banned. This is all there is for zombies to do unless you want to watch, so try your best to get kills and help your team.

No Racism/Sexism/Disrespect
This is a zero tolerance rule here, so please respect the rule and other players. If you attack other players for their race, sex or whatever other reason you will be removed from the server. We have a sense of humor but when your racism and slurs become all you can express; don't be surprised if you're no longer welcome here. This applies to sprays.

No Mic/Chatbox Spam
If the admins think you're using the mic or chatbox way to much, you will be muted or gagged. If your mic is too loud, staticy or broken, you will be muted, it's temporary, but if the admins ask you not to use the mic; we have good reason to. Fix your mic, stop talking, stop spamming or find a new server to annoy people on. If you decide to follow the rules, let an admin know; but if you're a constant problem you will be PERMA-muted/gagged.

No Exploits
There are small things in our maps that can be exploited and if you don't stop when an admin asks you will be slain. We might slap you down or teleport you if you don't listen to us, and if you continue to ignore the rule against it; we'll eventually just kick or ban you.

No cheating/hacking
If you use any form of hacks or cheat/exploit you are unwelcome on this server. If you hack here you will immediately be perma banned from all of CG's servers. Zero tolerance. If you are thought to be hacking, the admins will verify as fast as possible and permaban you immediately; I mean really, like you didn't expect to be banned?

No Disgusting Sprays
Sprays are back, and we're not going to be too strict on this; but if you're asked to change your spray or not spray, do so. Otherwise you risk being banned, it really shouldn't be worth all that though.

Respect Everyone, Even the Admins
Our admins will respect you if you respect the server. If you disregard our rules it's our job to take care of it. At least pretend to like and get along with everyone, or just keep your thoughts to yourself. Our Zombie Panic server is not the place to pick fights with people, if someone is irritating you, send the admins a message using team chat with an :@in front of your messages. The admins just want to play and try to enforce these rules, if you give us a hard time we'll be glad to give you one too; there's no reason to act like a cunt other than to provoke an admin. If you feel you've been abused, feel free to post in the admin abuse section on the forums.

I made a thread about it on the ZPS forums but I'm not sure if it's even an issue.

I can't see but 15 servers in the "internet" tab for the serverlists. Usually there's at least 100-130 servers up, if anyone has ZPS installed can you please check and confirm that is an issue?

I haven't been able to populate the ZPS server for shit this past week and the only people that join have played there before, so they can connect from the history/favorites tab like I can. I don't see our server and it worries me that maybe that's why nobodies connecting.

Lyssa has the same issue, I'm assuming many others do too. If you have problems please post on the ZPS forums thread about it to let them know.

Only OrangeBox engine mods were effected so ZM and Hidden are safe.. fuckers. I wish my engine was old.

Every time I try to play zps it closes and gives me the error "Could not get client.dll interface from library client"; and I checked the ZPS forums to see Valve released this RETARDED update to HL2 and Portal. God knows how long it'll be before things work again, the Dev team is waiting on a reply from Valve to get information on how they can fix it. Hopefully Valve will just realized they fucked up, but this is fucking stupid. My day already sucked enough cock and I finally get alone time to play ZPS and it's broken. Awesome.

The old server won't let me access the Control Panel anymore to restart it so I'm guessing it's gone? Admin and everything was broken anyway so I guess it makes sense, but when is a new ZPS server coming? D:

Zombie Master / Can't Find Servers in ZM

Everytime I try to connect to the server via server list it times out after four retries, and when I look for servers under the internet tab none show up and it says "Can't connect to ZM to find servers" or some shit; and I've been unable to play because of so. I tried looking online and nobody seems to of found a consistent resolve to it; one being disabling an antivirus (which I don't run or use often at all, especially while in game) and others being wiping all of your steam files. I might just need to reinstall it but I thought I did it fine, got SourceSDK installed and everything, got the DL for the game off the website, so yepp.'

Anyone have any ideas?

It's not wrong because it's the name of the song.. Well actually it's still wrong; but if you haven't or don't want to hear Nicki Minaj's "Stupid Hoe" I don't blame you. I still can't believe it's an actual song but it is. A lot of you probably don't know him, but he's like.. the modern Mozart and just.. so amazing on dat piano. He hasn't uploaded a video on his channel in four years now and ermagurd. Apparently he's not down or retarded, just really country and goofy. I NEED THIS INSIDE ME NOW. I AM HAVING WITHDRAWALS AND WITH ALL THE OLD COOL KIDS HERE IT'S EVEN WORSE. So much nostalgia, and I feel dirty playing the old server now despite it's essentially mine..

I'll be willing to donate what I can to help make this happen, and any other donations would be awesome too.

When I owned my own server I paid 24$ish a month for a 20 slot server, and it ran beautifully. I know that might be a bit high as I always heard, but it seemed worth it and there was rarely any downtime. Working two jobs I could easily donate 20-25$ to buy us one; as I don't see getting a box at the moment as a practical goal. Also when you buy them for that much from a decent host they come set up for the most part. I can figure out Source/Meta mod and any extra plugins but I'm going to need some admins..

I will only do it if the community is willing to play and help populate; so let me know how you all feel about this, and what exactly should be done serverwise. I'm not going to waste my money to let the server sit there so it only see's population after I play for an hour.

If we do it though, I'd be willing to do whatever the community wants to see, RPG system and pillscure/puke excluded. :p No deathruns? StockRotation? Would we even have FastDL(I'm thinking we still do..?) and the such.

I'm nostalgiaing so hard I almost want a HL2DM puzzle server and a killbox server.
