we have a server up but it is not announced yet as it needs a bit of tweaking

We are going to need a lot of mapper to help us get a few custom kick ass maps

we may have a community wide competition with a prize (still need to talk to a few others first though)

I would love for some maps to start churning out for nmrih

It is finally here

I have felt less and less apart of CG for a while now and when I come on I feel like an outsider

I have done nothing for CG over the last 2 months

Basically put like this

We are in the stage of transfering over leadership once again as for

cadaver
inject
jorgen

will be the succesors that will carry on CG

I am not away permanently but enough I feel I should at least post this

Now is the perfect time for me to take "an extended break"

we are most financially strong (2-6 year supply to keep us going at our current rate)
we are most socially sound (the great drama wars of the summer are gone and same with those ppl)
we are doing pretty well with our servers

I have the utmost confidence in leadership and even without any supervision they have all surpassed my expectations.

I will still be around for consultation and here for emergencies

as well as be in contact (msg me on steam and wait a few hours or days till i come back home)

CG is my legacy and I will not let it fall back into a state of near collapse

I am leaving at a time when everything is optimal

my return date is unknown but it may be months or a year before I return

This is what I love is servers and this community

you are my second family and you know I love you all
I just need some extended time away to do my own things

If I wasn't having the time of my life in college than I wouldn't be away so much

The last 2 months I haven't done shit it has been the other leadership members that have been hauling ass to see that CG stays healthy

anyways I will still be around but not as often

1. Must have a low smell signature (for the tobaccobecause we cannot smoke inside)
2. Must be under $160 in price
3. Must not fucking suck or prone to breaking

my last day in tampa is the 24th and im moving all the 25th and 3 days after that school starts

i am shipping up my computer (also probably getting a labtop before i move)

I am packing and partying and have had little time for cg except for those nights when nothing was going on and i just came home early

I will be off for a matter of days unknown to me but at least 4 days offline and up to 7 days

Before i left i wanted to get everything fixed up before i moved but that is just not looking possible with all that we need to do

I will add auto updater to all the servers so they auto update and install probably 2 more servers tonight to keep everyone entertained while im away

at this point to those that remember 6 months ago i had my retirement planned out so when i left to college cg would be in good hands a well rounded full leadership. Although i would never leave and i would still be around quite frequently.

anyways im going to be back in a week and im going to try to get everything done when i get my computer back

i am not sure when im going to pack up my computer but probably with a day or 2 it seems

Admin Department / Admin Manual

I will be setting up a Admin Manual with more of the basics and guidelines

will be broken down into a few sections

including

*rank requirements
*application requirements
* general cg rules
* game/server specific rules
* general operation procedure
* what we expect from admins

3 wiki's are being made

1. for CL/HA/CC for tutorials on servers and just about everything they will need (private need an account)
2. for admins a manual (public but may change if something comes up)
3. for the players/regulars a bunch of misc information that can be useful (haven't thought of very much)

Help Section / CG Gamemode

As some of you know My brother and I (wholegrain and wholegrainhunta) have been throwing around ideas and looking through code models and talking to see what is and is not possible for garrysmod

we feel that this gamemode is definitely something that would require alot of support although the majority of the coding wholegrainhunta will be doing.

We can however use a hand and if you would like to help us your name will be included when the gamemode is released (released as in our server goes public for it your names will be displayed when you join and what position you were.)

If you have skills in these current areas including

Lua coding
Map Making
Texture Desigh
Model Design

Than please post here and if we are not familiar with your work please post some examples as for we are not trying to make our gamemode look like it was done by someone who is 7

the gamemode is basically ai vs players

we have a few ideas on how to do it
1. it would like like an infusion of zm (no zombies just the rts setup) killingfloor (upgrades) and empires/fortwars (collect resources and build defensive structures)

basically it is a set amount of players going up against combine (reskined and rearmed with rpg machine rifle sniper etc....) helicopters and tanks (all heavily coded to actually be somewhat tactical)
the guns are going to be somewhat realistic (insurgency type for a basic idea) and the ai is going to be a bit more challenging (not just accuracy but tactics one squad advanced and another suppresive fire etc...)

we need to completely code everything from scratch
we need good textures and models (military style)
we need a map that is heavily customized for the ai and the gamemode

but the ai is going to be heavily coded (we checked to make sure it is even possible for most of what we wanted in the gamemode and adjusted accordingly)

if this gamemode is done right it is going to be big

Currently we do not have a timetable but I would assume the gamemode would be playable after a few days of coding

the gamemode/map will be under constant improvements and suggestions will be welcome

I will explain this gamemode much more in another thread

like play 10 hours on the server and get an achievement or kill 100 people etc...

keep it somewhat simple but yea

For all zps related issues see me personally

we do not have any head admins (doc opted for a 1 week stay but that is too short to train and get ready just too much work and not enough time)

I will be approving admin apps (with heavy input from current and retired admins and regulars on the zps server)

server maintainence

and will be handling disputes among admins and abuse etc.....

post here what you need on the zps server or are asking for

also just a reminder zps used to be my bread and butter back in the days i owned and managed a community all by my big boy self for 2 years before cg was created and admin for an extra year going back to when zps came out. .... so i have a good amount of experience (also our server was the 4th most played for a while)

Their has been talk about turning the jailbreak server into a surf server

it is apparently self populating to a degree and zukuto can set it up

anyways any ideas?
