Jesus it's like nobody here ever watched / read The Running Man... I AM DISSAPOINT
I'm not 98 years old. I don't watch old ass movies. But I'm sure it was great... for its time -_-
EDIT: watched a trailer. Yeah same thing I was talking about 30 other movies have been made like this afterwards with the same idea and plot.
Lol because I'm younger than you

So your saying a movie about kids fighting to the death for the enjoyment of a corrupt goverment, on natinal telivision, in a post apocalyptic world, is unoriginal?

I don't give a quarter shit about originality either, because I'm not going to sit around and decide whether it's original before I decide if I like it.
I was invited to see it with some friends, and I had read the 1st and 2nd books already. I thought it was great, considering that movies based on books typically leave out gaping holes of plot. The movie left out 2 tiny details, but nothing that actually affected the story. If you enjoyed the book, the movie is essentially revisiting the story, and is pretty awesome.
If you haven't read the book, the movie is still great, but you're missing a lot of background which would otherwise make the movie better.
What was missing POTENTIAL SPOILER:
There was no mention of the dogs having the eyes/faces of the dead tributes, and in the movie no one explained the significance of the mockingjay on the pin, or it's relation to the revolt. I wish they did, for the people who haven't read the book.
Also, why don't we have spoiler tags?

QFT when regarding this discussion about originality. Thanks for giving me an idea that the movie is worth my time as it did look interesting from the trailers and Jennifer Lawrence is pretty good looking and a pretty good actress as well

Give me a good action movie with little story or something that is actually funny and I'm happy. I don't like movies with too much going on, I watch to relax not test my detective skills by seeing how many hidden things I can notice.
Not saying the movie is bad, but it looks like they took the awesome of Running Man's senselessviolence and tried to give it a legit back story. Running man was great BECAUSE it was senseless violence for entertainment, not some forced Olympics.

Uhh yes actually.
You're aware of the other books and movies that follow this exact same plot line right?

>Go to book store.
>Read first few Pages and become drawn into it.
>Knows he doesn't have time to read the rest and doesn't want to pay for it.
>Waits until movie comes out.
>Profit? Nope, still have to pay for the movie.
>Hours of life well saved.

Inject is cynical and should stop judging movies on originality rather than it's performance.

No... I just hate when movies get over hyped when there nother special compared to every other movie that comes out. Every looks for some deep meaing or OH MY GOD THIS HASNT BEEN DONE BEFORE GASP!!! When in reality their wrong. I never said the movies bad and I'm not Cynical. I just think the hype for this is stupid and should stop.
