Keyboarding Early
« on: October 23, 2010, 02:17:42 PM »
I think they should start teaching kids how to type when their like in 2nd grade. Have them doing keyboarding classes, teaching them the letters on the keyboard, while they learn cursive and shit. Lot's of kids would probably being able to access the computer at such an early age, and it would get them familiarized with computers. In this day and age, all of those kids would have one later on anyway. It's just assumed that everyone has a computer nowadays. Might as well teach kids how to use them early on right? They could be learning C++ in fifth grade if they wanted. They could have Java, and more advanced shit mastered by the time they're a freshman in high school.
This whole thing is a travesty.

For starters, Pillz is obviously the sexiest.

Pretty sure at my school they made kids learn typing around 3rd or 4th. I always hated the class because we used a Mac. I learned Flash at about 6th grade. I think it shouldn't be any lower than that.

All they taught us was how to do some weird game on the computers. Kids should be like answering their teachers questions via laptop or something. That would be awesome. Oh, or they get rid of schools altogether and do it all online.
This whole thing is a travesty.

It would be rather easy though. You could probably just home school that stuff. So, kinda pointless.

Computer skills should be taught as soon as the children can read and write fluently.

The last thing we need is a whole bunch of whiney 10 year olds with no life coding and being more annoying.

First, they should teach them how to write by hand.  Then cursive.  Then keyboard.

Heck, when I learned, it was typewriting, not keyboard...

Meddling kids... OFF MY LAWN!

Keep little kids off of the computer and let them play in the playground or something.
