I usually find it best to pounce to a target, hit, pounce into the air, and then crouch behind them and finish them off, it works the majority of the time =)

Fuck it. I like hearing new players' tactics.
Plus, what about stickied topics? We necro them because they are stuck to the top.

Well this isn't stickied so...
I'm just saying that he shouldn't necro, because if nobody would say it, he would do it again because he'll think it's allowed.

I'm not trying to be a dick but rules are still to be followed.

Well, considering how "lively" the forums are nowadays, he gets to make the choice of:
1) Make a new thread of the same topic (leading to clutter)
OR
2) Comment on a thread that no one commented on for over a week (because of lack of commenters, it DEFAULTS to a "necro" violation, which shouldn't be his fault. I've always had an irk about the whole "necro" rule, anyway)

But yeah, nowadays, I have to figure out who is liable to 180 me and remember to catch them on their sides and run away.

There are rules, and then there are the circumstances. In a small, not-very-active community like CG, there's no point in upholding the rules as the divine law to be followed in any and all situations, especially when the circumstances make some of them ridiculous. Not trying to be a dick neither, but please think about:

- What harm that reply in a "dead" topic does;
- The sense it makes to see 50% of the posts over 1 day (that is, one post in the whopping two posts of that day) being a reminder to "not necro";
- Why such a rule about necroing exists and what the true goal of it is.

Fine then, I'm sure the rules for necro'ing can become more flexible, however necro'ing still shouldn't be allowed in some circumstances, for example trying to get your post count up by necro'ing old threads with a useless comment.

If a reply make sense and actually contributes to the flow of the thread, something relevant, then I guess exceptions can be made :)

If I'm not mistaken, Inject lifted the requirements of the post counts to apply for admin role (or at least it became more flexible), so there's not really a point anymore in trying to bloat your post count.

The point behind the "no necro'ing" rule you find on most forums is actually to stimulate new discussions - if you have an opinion about something and post it in an old thread, people might start arguing about exactly the same elements again; however if you create a new topic, it increases the chances of starting a discussion fresh with new points of views and ideas.
"Necro'ing" however is not only about posting in an "old" thread; it's about posting in a thread that has already been buried by new threads for some time (e.g. page 6 of the list of topics).

It's difficult to apply either here because there isn't enough activity to "bury old threads" or "recreate a new discussion about an already discussed topic". It might actually be better to post your opinion/idea on an "old" thread than create a new one.

Necromancing time.

Sorry long overdue.

Yes I did lift it to some degree (the amount of post required). Time are hard I guess to say the least.
But you are both right.
Rules are rules and if people just assume a rule doesn't apply because of x or y why do the rules exist?

I should probably officially touch up the rules my self so things are more clear.
And I do think necroing is bad alot of the times like Pyro said.

But given the current forum activity, I'm going to obviously be more lenient, but not invisible.
