While I have to agree Cata sucked...I do not agree that vanilla does not count.
If vanilla is not number 1 in the series then the following expansions do not deserve numbers either.

This isn't a comic book it's not like WoW vanilla is issue #0 -_-

Not all 3rd installments of franchises suck, Super Mario 3 for instance I feel is the best one of all those games.

BF3 I hear is a beast.

Metroid 3

Morrowind comes to mind as well.

Half-Life 3 will fucking own...Even if it turns out to be a Duke Nukem Forever, I will still stand by it. -_-

Portal 2 took a shit ton of time to be released but it was a great sequel. :P
Half-Life 3 is taking a lot longer, so chances are, it's gonna be epic.
