How're you guys doing.
I'm Ivan, otherwise known as Kawaii-kun (Minecraft: Paranoism; Everything else: Strategetical), and I am just a guy that typically plays Minecraft and Quakelive, among other things.
I'm also a server admin (including founder, CEO, only member, pretty much a god) over at sq10, where I just run and manage servers that focus on serving cool things to others (atm I run about 5 Minecraft servers (including Ralph's Tekkit Classic), a web server, a Mumble server, and a few WIP Node.js apps).
I just generally enjoy doing everything (but mostly programming and webdev), and when it comes to serious projects, I try to be more-or-less a perfectionist.
Anyways, hi, and I hope to get to know (and try not to piss off) you all!

Well, it depends in what general direction you want to start.
Initially, I'd recommend reading at least a few of these (http://www.headfirstlabs.com/) books (with this (http://www.headfirstlabs.com/books/hfprog/) being the first one), as they're a great series, but after there, it's up to you to choose your language(s). Some quick googling on the popular languages and programs that were made in that language could be a good place to start.
