Debate Forum / Re: New Forum Rules Debate!
« on: April 13, 2014, 08:01:32 PM »
So, in a recent deviated thread, the topic about forum rules and interpretation came up.
In an attempt to bring that topic it's own thread, here it is.
I have chosen the Debate section because we should discuss the rules here THEN post our final decision in the soon-to-be-updated Rules Thread, instead of dukin' it out in that thread itself.

The 2 obvious hot rules are Post Count and Necro.
These are two rules that was linked to each other. Post count being the yardstick by which we measure one's involvement with the Community and Necro MAINLY being ensuring someone aiming for Admin doesn't just spam old forgotten topics to pad their numbers. The other benefit of No Necro was stimulating new conversation instead of beating dead horses (and there's a ton of those).

I'll start off, Post Count to get Admin after the Implosion (I think we all know what that refers to) was officially dropped to an undisclosed number due to the need for new blood on the forums. I was okay and onboard with this. What bothered me was when someone's FIRST POST was an Admin Application. Too soon.

In this much quieter forum, Necro is hard to avoid. We're dying for new opinions, new topics, new faces. If someone joins after a month of silence, what are they supposed to do besides Introduce themselves? Restart new threads of the same topic that they gosh-darn missed out on by a week? Where's the context? Or the simplicity that should be Internet Communication?
We can make Necro a more "unofficial" rule (force new members to learn about it from other members, stimulate interaction) or we can expand the "expiration date" of topics. If a topic is said and done, we can ALWAYS just lock it.

Thoughts and Opinions are VERY appreciated and welcomed.

I believe Inject has stated that as of now you don't need the certain amount of post to apply for administrator! On the other hand I completely agree with bringing up some older threads, but if it is one that can possibly start a flame war, then no. I am sure more then half the people here have the IQ not to do that!

He was extremely active back and the day and mature, I think he'd be a amazing fit for Vet. admin again

Admin Applications / Re: [ZM] jamira

Hello Jamira,

I have to agree with Pyro here, it's not a very detailed application. It'd be nice to hear a bit more about you and why you think you'd make a good admin on the ZM servers.

In addition, I would like to point out the minimum requirements described in http://www.conjointgaming.com/forum/index.php?topic=8.0 ; please make sure to check them.

I agree with them too. The requirement for post aren't exactly needed at the moment from Inject has told people, and me. (I could also be wrong) Anyways -1 not a very detailed app.

General Gaming Talk / Re: CS:GO VS CS:S

I use to play CSS Competitively. And I'd love to setup a CG scrimmage event for CSS or CS:GO sometime. I've always had the idea in the back of my mind of a mini CG Clan Division. I'm not sure we'd have enough members interested in it though.
For CS:S I imagine I could get 4-5 guys, probably to play.. They're really big into CS:GO competitive though.

General Gaming Talk / CS:GO VS CS:S
« on: March 30, 2014, 12:04:47 PM »
Hello,

I realize this is quite random, but I've been speaking with Inject and he made me aware that I should make a thread for this, asking which type of server would bring in more members. CS:S is old but still has members playing ZE, ZM, Minigames, and Jail Break.. They're all equally active, but CS:GO offers ZE with better graphics which might want players to join it, but I doubt it because CS:GO seems a more competitive game then anything!

Kind Regards,

Ozborne

So pretty much this thread will continue to be a massive issue, may we just request a lock to the thread?

I can attempt to have Jorgen post on the thread, but if not I will surely take a picture of what he said..

I was undercover, I was watching 'The Muslim' acting like a normal player in game and you broke my cover by saying "nice try ozborne", I spoke to Futeko about this and he agreed you were extremely out of line.

Edit: It isn't hard to spell my name, it is everywhere ingame.. Honestly when I first spoke to you, you were interested in joining the admin team but after I got it you've been god bent on trying to get me removed. Also I spoke to a retired Community Leader and he said I did nothing wrong calling you a "idiot",  if you wish I could probably take a screen shot of mine and his chat. (Jorgen) If you have a problem calling me out on something you shouldn't have done, then don't do it.. As stated above I was acting like a normal player asking if there is admin to see if I could get someone to say "No, we're doing bad things" like I did get someone similar to say! Maybe you need to stop now, I will be speaking with a higher administrator to handle this situation, you're getting on my nerves.. By the most part it is coming on like you're trying to start a flame war with me, which I advise is not a good thing to do.

If you do not think I am admin material simply report me to Inject, above the post you were the one who provoked me and Futeko agreed with me while we were messaging on steam. If I am not admin material please explain more, because I obviously have to disagree with you.

Edit: Pulling the I am young card will also not work, I've had a lot of jobs and worked in a lot high places, this being said I believe I am mature enough to hold this position, what you're doing here is attempting to create a flame war.

I guess I have been extremely over my head, but to be fair it wouldn't have happened if Sputkin hopped on trying to say  I was or am doing the following.. "And for the last, I dont want to hear you flaming to your friends, how you can achieve gatling with your admin rights. Thats immature and putting yourself on a pedestal."

- I apologize to you guys for my attitude, I just got a bit.. er.. Defensive because I was being "bossed" around..

We obviously have different opinions of the situation, I am done posting on this.. Until these changes are accepted/denied I will only use a few of them, if you have a problem with that contact Inject or confront me.
